On 11 September 2025, Villaggio hosted a special R U OK? Day BBQ, bringing together more than 100 participants from across our community. Residents, staff, families, and friends gathered to share food, laughter, and conversations that truly mattered.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our Retirement Living residents, whose involvement made this fundraising event such a success. Your support and presence added so much warmth to the day.

The BBQ was more than just a meal โ€“ it was a reminder of the power behind four simple words: โ€œAre you OK?โ€. These words can spark real connections, create safe spaces, and make a genuine difference in someoneโ€™s life.

At Villaggio, weโ€™re proud to stand together for mental wellbeing, not only on R U OK? Day, but every day. Letโ€™s keep looking out for one another, because community is strongest when we support each other.

As part of our latest staff meeting, our team came together in a vibrant showcase of cultural pride and inclusion. With more than 70% of our workforce participating, the room came alive with traditional outfits, home-cooked dishes, and heartfelt performances representing cultures from around the world.

PAGE, ACT โ€“ With a heart full of compassion and a spark of creativity, Isis Rodden, Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator at Villaggio Santโ€™ Antonio, is bringing joy, colour, and connection to the lives of residentsโ€”one moment at a time.

Isis began her journey in aged care as a community carer in Goulburn and the Southern Highlands. After two years supporting clients in their homes, she moved to Canberra with a desire to explore a new pathโ€”one that would allow her to connect, create, and inspire.

โ€œWhen the opportunity came up to join Villaggio as a Leisure and Lifestyle Officer, I thoughtโ€”why not try something different?โ€ she reflects. โ€œIt turned out to be the most rewarding decision of my life.โ€

In just under a year, Isisโ€™s genuine warmth and vibrant energy earned her a promotion to Coordinatorโ€”a role sheโ€™s taken on with pride and passion.

โ€œI feel like Villaggio is my second home,โ€ Isis shares with a smile. โ€œThereโ€™s a real sense of belonging here, not just with the residents but also with the amazing team I work with. Thereโ€™s enjoyment in what we do every dayโ€”whether itโ€™s creating a themed event, having a laugh with a resident, or brainstorming something new with the team.โ€

She describes the Lifestyle Team as a source of unstoppable energy: โ€œWe bring a spark of life into the home. Thereโ€™s excitement in the air, and that energy translates into the lifestyle experiences we create. Itโ€™s about bringing meaning, connection, and happiness into every day.โ€

Isisโ€™s passion shines through in her words and actions: โ€œI love learning about peopleโ€”their culture, their stories, their perspectives. Itโ€™s incredibly fulfilling to give back, to create something special, and to know it makes a difference.โ€

Her message to the Villaggio community is clear and heartfelt:
โ€œMy door is always openโ€”for conversations, ideas, or just a quiet moment together. Iโ€™m here for our residents, and Iโ€™m here for our team.โ€

On August 5th, our exceptional Villaggio clinical nursing team came together with our leadership team at the Raiders Club in Kippax, Belconnen for an evening that was nothing short of inspiring.

The all-hands meeting was a powerful reminder of the passion, dedication, and unity that drives our care team every day.
