Villaggio Santโ€™Antonio recently wrapped up a vibrant two-week Step Challenge, and the energy is still buzzing! Eight teams participated in this exciting initiative, demonstrating an incredible level of enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to wellbeing.

The top three teams truly went above and beyond, with each team achieving over 1.5 million steps during the challengeโ€”an outstanding effort reflecting consistency, collaboration, and determination. Equally impressive was the performance of the remaining teams, who remained highly competitive and close behind, creating a tight and motivating contest right through to the finish.

Across all teams, staff showed remarkable dedication regardless of their roles or shifts. Whether working day, afternoon, or night shifts, team members supported and encouraged one another, sharing inspiring stories of resilience, self-care, and team spirit.

As the challenge concludes, one thing is clear: at Villaggio, we donโ€™t just take stepsโ€”we take them together, with purpose, energy, and smiles to match our strides.

Villaggio Santโ€™ Antonio proudly participated in the Volunteer Expo held at the University of Canberra, marking a truly rewarding and inspiring day of community connection and engagement. Representing the organisation, the Villaggio team connected with more than 40 individuals who expressed a genuine interest in giving back and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The atmosphere throughout the event was vibrant and uplifting, filled with heartfelt conversations, shared personal stories, and a collective sense of purpose. Each interaction reflected the growing spirit of volunteerism within the community and highlighted the important role volunteers play in enhancing the wellbeing of residents.

At Villaggio Santโ€™ Antonio, we are proud to celebrate career pathways, dedication, and the remarkable people who make our community so special. Rebecca Muaโ€™s journey is a beautiful reflection of what growth, perseverance, and passion can achieve.

Rebecca began her career with Villaggio as a Care Staff member. From the very beginning, she demonstrated compassion, commitment, and a deep respect for our residents and their families. While working on the floor, Rebecca made the courageous decision to further her studies and pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.

Balancing study, work, and family life was no small task. There were challenges, long nights, and moments of exhaustion โ€” yet Rebecca remained determined. Through resilience and unwavering focus, she successfully completed her Registered Nurse residency studies and has now stepped into her role as a Clinical RN at Villaggio.

Reflecting on her journey, Rebecca shares:

โ€œVillaggio is a place that I always feel as my second family โ€” such a meaningful workplace. Residents, families, staff โ€” we all feel like one family. Iโ€™m so lucky to continue my journey as a Clinical RN at Villaggio.โ€

It has been a great pleasure to welcome Vanessa Lange, our on-site pharmacist, to Villaggio Santโ€™ Antonio. Since joining us late last year, Vanessa has made a remarkable contribution to our community, building strong clinical connections with our residents, workforce, and care teams.

With more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy practice, Vanessa brings not only deep clinical knowledge but also a genuine passion for improving medication safety, quality of care, and clinical governance in aged care. Her presence onsite allows our team to have direct access to expert advice, ensuring residents receive the safest and most effective medication management.

Vanessa works closely with our nurses, care staff, and leadership team to review medications, support best-practice prescribing, and strengthen clinical governance frameworks that support high-quality resident care. Her enthusiasm, professionalism, and collaborative approach have already made a meaningful impact across the organisation.

This was all about celebrating Villaggioโ€™s heritage - bringing Italian flagship culture, connection, and entrepreneurial spirit together. ๐ŸŒŸ Young and seasoned business owners shared the spotlight, showing how our community thrives when we support each other. ๐Ÿ’ช

We had an absolutely amazing and successful Drive-Through Mobile & Wheelie Walker Mobility Wash Day! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿฆผ Hosted by the Villaggio leadership team, it was a fantastic day! Everyone had a great timeโ€”kids on school holiday programs even joined in and had a blast helping wash our residentsโ€™ wheelchairs and mobility equipment. ๐ŸŽ‰

We wrapped it all up with a family fun barbecue. ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”ฅ It was a special community event that truly brought us together. Villaggio isnโ€™t just a workplaceโ€”itโ€™s a meaningful, admired place where we make aged care something truly special. โค๏ธ
