ATAGI recommends that all adults aged 75 years should receive an additional 2023 COVID-19 vaccine dose if 6 months have passed since their last dose.

FREE SHINGLES JAB!!
From 1 November 2023, the shingles vaccine Shingrix will be available for free on the National Immunisation Program (NIP) schedule to help prevent shingles and post-herpetic neuralgia.

SOCIAL AND FAMILY HISTORY MONTH

Be a part of Dickson General Practice as we are running a Social history month starting today.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement of quality of care, Medical records management becomes part of it. This month from 10th JULY 2023 to 10th AUGUST 2023, Dickson General Practice is running a “social and family history month”. Your Doctor/Nurse might ask you questions pertaining to that aspect, therefore we request co-operation from you. You do, however can politely refuse if you do not want to provide the information.

Did you know that the HPV vaccine schedule has changed? 💉

Immunisation experts now consider a single dose of the HPV vaccine to be as effective as 2 doses at preventing HPV infection. Year 7 students in the ACT are offered the funded vaccine at their school.

Young people (except those who are immunocompromised) who receive a single dose before 26 years of age are now considered fully vaccinated and don’t need further doses.

The free catch-up program for young people who have missed their HPV vaccination is also now extended from 19 years of age to people under 26 years of age. The vaccine is available at your GP.
