What a sweet day we’ve had here at Pines Living!

We kicked things off with Chocolate Chip Cookie Bingo and yes, winners walked away with actual cookies!

Then came the Cookie Treasure Hunt, and it was game on! Our residents turned into cookie detectives, Looking up, down, front and behind of them. Everyone became a bit competitive. So much laughter, a bit of friendly competition, and plenty of sweet rewards.

I wish you all enjoy the cookies you have won. :)

Pines Living would like to thank ADACAS for setting up their Advocacy Desk at Pines Living today and meeting some of our residents.

ADACAS provides free advocacy and information to people in Canberra and on the South Coast of NSW living with disability, experiencing mental ill-health, older persons and their carers. We are an independent human rights organisation. We believe that all people have an equal right to enjoy their human rights.

They will be actively visiting Pines Living every last Tuesday of the month. If you or your loved ones would like to speak to them, you can inform us so that can arrange it for you. Alternatively you may phone ADACAS at (02) 6242 5060 for any advocacy services.

It was refreshing to see everyone in their jammies when we celebrated Pajama Day last July! The cosy vibes, warm smiles, and comfy outfits made it such a fun and relaxed day for both residents and staff.
From fluffy slippers to playful prints, everyone got into the spirit — and we loved every bit of it. Days like this remind us how simple joys can bring so much laughter and connection.
Thank you to everyone who joined in and made it special. All the Leadership team, staff and the residents. Can’t wait for the next themed day!

How fun it is to visit the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, from the stunning artwork to the fascinating stories behind each portrait, there’s something that captures everyone’s attention. The residents enjoyed wandering through the gallery, taking in the faces of iconic Australians, and sharing memories sparked by the exhibits. It was a lovely outing filled with curiosity, conversation while enjoying a cuppa at the cafe.

Thank you ADACAS for the successful forum we had on raising awareness about Elder Abuse. It was such an interesting yet very sensitive conversation that sparked meaningful reflections and important discussions. We appreciate everyone who joined us in recognising the signs, speaking up, and supporting respect and dignity for our older community members.

To end on a lighter note, we wrapped up with a fun little game that brought a few laughs and smiles around the room — a lovely way to connect and reflect together.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in supporting the Cancer Council Australia through this year’s Biggest Morning Tea.

We had such a beautiful Easter celebration here at The Pines Living, with the kids in our Playgroup and a surprise appearance of our Pines Bunny.💛🐣

The smiles were contagious as the little ones shared cuddles, giggles, and Easter crafts with our residents—who were just as delighted as the kids! The Pines Bunny hopped in with baskets of joy (and chocolates!), making sure no one missed out on the fun.🐰🍫

It’s moments like these that fill the home with warmth and remind us just how important connection is—across all generations.

A big thank you to the families who joined us and to everyone who helped bring this lovely day to life. Our hearts (and hands) are still full! 💐✨
