Capital Hydrotherapy is a boutique functional water based exercise program, designed by Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists to specifically suit an individual's needs. It has a particular focus on rehabilitation and has proven to be very beneficial for:

IT’S A JOURNEY.

Thanks for having us

We whipped together a panel for our 4th year Exercise Physiology graduates. Nice work Ange; I’ll always clear my schedule for you ❤️

🧩 Big takeaways:

1) Ask questions, and learn to listen.
2) Find a solid mentor.
3) Find what you love, and do that. I was lucky I found my “joy niche” early in my career - some EPs are still searching for their speciality. Don’t give up.
4) Try lots of different types of roles; it may surprise you what you’re drawn to. You don’t know, till you try.
5) Find your work-life balance….preferably early in your career.
6) Up skill in Trauma Informed & motivational interviewing.

Good luck to the new graduates. Strap in. It may get wild….

Love it when new friends come into your life later on in the pathway. We dive straight into the deep topics, lightheartedly 😎

This is a reminder, to hang out with people you care about in real life. Even if it’s just for 60mins. We are all busy, but get your priorities in order. Saying that - I did have to set an alarm 🤣(but only because I could chat forever to this one, and a gals got things to do 🤣😇)

Every year, Capital Hydrotherapy has a week off trade in mid July.

The pool closes. And our practitioners are encouraged to recharge, RESET, and go on an adventure. Or not. Just ease back.

It was nice to be back today after a week of “slow mode”.

I love having an impact on the wider community; and sharing my love of movement, health, human motivation and wellness. Always keeping it simple, and light hearted.

Main takeaways of today’s segment:

🔵 “It’s the finest of wins that you do DAILY that have the biggest impact”.

🔵 “Lift it, shift it, repeat it”.

🔵 Humans are motivated by progress & momentum. Set some “tiny goals”, and get a small win (marginal gains).

🔵 variety is key

🔵 Activity guidelines are only guidelines. You can tweak them to suit your needs & function.

🔵 “Stickability” - HOW do you stick to the plan? You need a plan, if you are to stick to it ✔️

And - the prevalence of burnout in allied health sits above the current global average (39% VS 35%). At Cap Hydro we take these stats very seriously. It’s actually my main focus as a boss lady…
The rest falls apart, if I don’t look after our team.

Equipping our practitioners with practical tools and strategies to mitigate the risk was the main purpose of today’s PD.

We discussed the 5 pillars of preventing BO: Stress, Sleep, Recovery, Exercise, Energy. Individually picking it to pieces; and came up with J.O.T (“just one thing”).

🫶🏼 We’re HALF way through 2025.

💥 Farewell EOFY, hello new start.

👀 I’m usually not one for statistics, data & numbers. I don’t own a watch, or a diary, & I don’t have whoop, or fitness trackers, or strava or the likes, & don’t follow people on social media.

I DO however love looking back on moments throughout the year; I re assess everything often, pick it to pieces, find a better way, then move on quickly. Reassessing, allows us to make tweaks along the way (& sometimes drastic impulsive shifts 🤣- sorry Nikki).

It’s the “doing”, & the effort, & the time, & the feeling that I DO like to focus on.

Here’s some fun “doing” stats for you all:

In 2025 we have had-
⭐️ 120 huddles
⭐️ 720 moments of gratitude shared in the huddles.
⭐️ 720 clip boards Nikki’s had to organise 🤯
⭐️ over 5000 hydro sessions
⭐️ 5280 hydro exercises shared
⭐️504 lane ropes removed
⭐️24 000 pool noodles required (recycled usage!)
⭐️ TWO new hires
⭐️ NO near fires 🤣

I wanted this afternoons hike up One Tree Hill to stay on our Capital Hydro IG wall, rather than just a fleeting Story.

And so Lou doesn’t forget us 🤣

“The best things in life are free” - and this afternoon was the perfect example. Sunsets, climbing trees, belly laughs (“which quad did you tear”?) and gorgeous views (apart from “suicide bug”)…

It’s small moments like these that matter. People. And feels. It’s always about people. And it’s always about a feeling.

On pool deck, it’s easy to be a team - we’re trained professionals & love what we do. But when you can laugh outside of work, and enjoy each other’s company - that’s something special.

Grateful to create a moment to climb up a mountain; and have a dance on a trail in the dark.

⁉️ Maybe this winter, “tiny-goals” could be what you’re searching for?

At Capital Hydrotherapy, we often talk to our patients about “marginal gains” (small wins) and “stickability” (adherence). Especially in winter, when the barriers are high, and frosty excuses are real.

When it comes to setting fitness goals and achieving them, people want a feeling of “gradually moving forward”, and as humans, we are motivated by progress. If we aim for perfection this winter (and set ridiculously unobtainable goals), we’ll potentially fail, because perfection is so out of reach. But what if we set ourselves a small wellness goal each week this winter? Or even better – every day!

Lovely breakfast with a special bunch of ladies.

I’ll never take for granted the chance to casually have a yarn with smart, motivated, driven women in business. I love that this happens every month (if we choose).

At one table, we have some of THE BEST physios, psychologists, dieticians and women’s health physios. I’ve been referring to some of these women for over 20 years, and I love that we are all still doing what we love.

Janet and I have been friends and colleagues for over 20 years; and I love seeing her so happy and flourishing.

Choosing to be a business owner is never easy (especially when young kids are in the mixing bowl) - but it’s easier when you surround yourself with like-minded brains you trust.
