Welcome to the first day of winter, Canberra family. ❄️🍂

As June 1st arrives and the air turns crisp, nature is giving us a clear cue to slow down, pull inward, and tend to our inner warmth.

On a cold Monday morning, jumping straight into a fast-paced day can feel a bit jarring for the body. That’s why a supine spinal twist (Supta Matsyendrasana) is the perfect medicine for a winter morning. Lying close to the earth, cozy and supported, this gentle twist acts like a soft unraveling. It rinses out the stiffness from the cold, wakes up the spine, and creates a beautiful pocket of stillness before the week unfolds.

As you let your knees drop to one side, imagine wringing out any heavy, stagnant energy from the season before, making space for deep, warming breaths.

Before you step out into the winter chill today, give yourself permission to spend five deep breaths here. Let the earth support you, and let your breath warm you from the inside out. 🤍
