If you buy this product by just looking at the front of package, you might be attracted by the word "protein" or the 4 health star rating.

If you look at the ingredients list and nutrition panel you'll notice that:
β€’ The main protein-rich ingredient is soy protein crisps, listed second at 18% in terms of content
β€’ There are multiple types of sugar ingredients
β€’ The protein content is 7g and 6g of sugar per bar
β€’ The fibre is not bad (3.1g per bar), but could be better

Does this mean you should not eat these bars? Not necessarily, but you should be aware of whether it is a good option for you and under which circumstances.

Yoghurts made with whole milk will, most of the time, be higher in energy than those made with skim milk because of the energy from fat. However, many yoghurts are made with milk and cream, so it pays to check the actual fat content.

This graph shows which Greek and Greek-style yoghurts are made with skim vs whole milk.

Greek yoghurt can be a decent protein source but not all yoghurts are created equal.

Greek yoghurts available in Australia have anywhere between 3.3 and 10.4 grams of protein per 100g (around β…“ to Β½ cup).

To put things into perspective, many people would benefit from consuming a minimum of 30 grams of protein at breakfast. Even if you were to eat 200 grams (around 1 cup) of a low protein Greek yoghurt, you will only be getting 6.6 grams of protein from the yoghurt, leaving 23.4 grams to go.

The top 5 yoghurts based on protein content are:

The bottom 5 yoghurts based on protein content are:

This egg white bake with cottage cheese and pumpkin is great for meal prepping. Similar to a frittata, it is ideal for breakfast if you prefer a savoury option but don't have time to cook it each morning.

Think of it as growing a plant rather than filling a bucket. If your plant is 1 inch tall and it grows by 80%, it becomes 1.8 inches, not 80 inches. You are multiplying your current starting point, not adding a fixed amount to the total.
