Welcome to 2025 and Happy New Year. 170 years ago the Boller family from Reicholzheim were around 7 weeks into the journey to Twofold Bay. Cholera had already broken out on board. Perhaps Maria Luise and Helena had already died from disease by January 1855. No records were kept on when passengers on this ship died but some details are in family journals.

Hello Bollers!! + all the associated family names as well. A couple of bits of news before I get to the birthdays.
(1) The $1,370 needed to pay for the memorial plaque for Georg Caspar, Helena Luise and Maria Luise has been received. Exact to the last dollar! Thank you to all those who contributed. A special mention to the 5 Jack Boller girls originally from "Parkview" Mogilla who contributed $250. Other individuals threw in $100. Fantastic response. If you were thinking of contributing and had not yet got around to it, perhaps send the $50 to your favourite cause (or wait for the next restoration project. We found Mary Agnes Bollers headstone at Candelo very difficult to read. Maybe we could get a quote for that project?
(2) The Frank Boller (1922-2008) branch had a wonderful celebration in Eden on Friday 15th November when Franks Grandson James Boller married Taylor Browne at the Seahorse Inn, Eden. James and Taylor chose Eden because of its huge historical importance as the site of the landing from the "Caesar" in March 1855 after the passengers spent 8 days waiting in Quarantine Bay.

Georg Caspar Boller memorial in Candelo Cemetery - latest news.
While it is certain that GC Boller is buried in the Candelo Cemetery, it has not been possible to determine the exact location of his grave. Several family members have reported that his grave was close by his son Frank and grandson William Henry and beside a tree which is no longer there. There are a number of unmarked graves close by but Bega Council was unable to specify which was the correct one and (understandably) was not prepared to just guess and allow a memorial to be erected on one of them. The compromise is that a plaque remembering Georg Caspar (I took this version from the oldest German document in my possession), his wife Helena Luise and daughter Maria Luise can be placed on one of the other Boller graves. I have consulted with several (obviously not everyone) Boller branches and decided to proceed with a plaque, at a cost of $1380. This has been paid. It's not easy to estimate how many extended Boller family members might want to contribute so I decided on $50 from around 26 people would cover it. While this has not been widely advertised some have already contributed - thanks to Bernie Boller, Angie Minards, Carmel C***s, Kel Boller, Emma Sanderson, Sean Boller, Kaz Boller, Veronica Boller, Leigh Boller, Bev Viksne, Barbara Boller, Roslyn Evans, Christine Cole, Marita Boller, Tyler Boller, Barb Burton, Mark and Robyn Boller, Dylan Boller.

Georg Caspar Boller was naturalized on 11th September 1866 and his son Franz Simon was naturalized on 12th September 1878. They were then recognized as Australian citizens and were able to buy land.

William Henry Boller and Ita Gertrude Grealy were married at Wolumla on 11th September 1918.

Their daughter Alice Constance Boller married William Porter on 12th September 1951.

Clement Ernest Boller died 18th September 1952
Magdalena Francesca Eggenberger died 28th September 1979.
Kevin Edward Boller died in Toronto, Canada on 12th September 2018.

Sorry to report the deaths of 2 Boller family members.
Michael Percival. Michael's funeral will take place on Tuesday, 20th August 2024 at 1.30 pm at the Sacred Heart Church, Cabramatta.

Christine Boller. Daughter of Jack and Lola Boller. Sister of Barbara, Beverly, Roslyn and Marita. Christine died today, 17th August 2024 at RNSH, Sydney. Funeral details later.

Condolences to the family and friends of Michael and Christine.
