💛 Today is R U OK? day 💛

A simple conversation could change - or even save - a life.

Take a moment today (and every day) to check in with the people around you. Ask, “R U OK?” and really listen to the answer.

💛 You don’t need to have all the answers.
💛 You don’t need to fix everything.
💛 Just being there and showing you care can make a world of difference.

Let’s keep the conversation going - not just today, but every day.

❕Don’t wait til the last moment- an important part of getting ready for Tropical Cyclone Alfred is identifying your place of shelter.

🏠 As the cyclone crosses, your place of shelter should be the strongest and safest room in the building you are in.

It should be away from windows- it could be a bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, or hallway.

If the room has a window, cover this with plywood, a mattress or heavy blanket.

Put your emergency kit in your safe room, including a supply of water.

You can also put a mattress in the room in case you need to shelter beneath it.

This morning our CEO and management committee activated our Emergency Management Plan.

What does this mean?
The safety of our clients, participants and staff is our priority.

Individualised supports will continue to be delivered, where safe and possible.

Services, such as domestic assistance or yard maintence will be postponed until the cyclone passes.

Our management team are reviewing our priority list of clients/participants who will need ongoing support and assistance during the looming weather event. You will be notified today of your individual emergency plan and given a dedicated 1300 number to call on, if needed.

Our staff are currently being categorised into essential and on-call. You will be notified today of your category and what this means for you.

If you, a client/participant, or someone you know may struggle or require assistance through or immediately after Tropical Cyclone Alfred passes, please contact our Personal Concierge team today on 07 3102 3331.

We can only provide assistance when we know!

Please stay safe.

Regards,
David and the QuCare team
