19/05/2025

Yes, all Queensland residents aged 6 months and older are eligible for a free flu vaccination under the 2025 Queensland Free Flu Vaccination Program. This initiative, funded by the Queensland Government, began on March 1, 2025, and will run until September 30, 2025.

The program is designed to reduce pressure on the healthcare system by increasing vaccination rates and preventing flu-related hospitalizations. It is available to all Queenslanders, regardless of Medicare eligibility. Vaccines are provided at no cost at participating GPs, pharmacies, and community vaccination centers.

Health experts recommend getting vaccinated as early as possible to ensure optimal protection, especially since flu cases have been rising.

For more information or to find a vaccination provider near you, visit the Queensland Health website

Capalaba Medical Centre is extensively equipped and capable of managing many conditions.

Capalaba Medical Centre (CMC) is located at 189 Old Cleveland Rd, Capalaba, in the Bayside Medical Precinct. CMC is a large, friendly, family-orientated general medical practice and skin cancer service accredited with the Royal Australian College of Genreal Practitioners.

The practice commenced operation in 1976, and has gradually evolved into one of the largest general practice surgeries in Australia, privately owned and operated by a team of dedicated doctors, nurses and support staff with decades of clinical and surgical experience.

Because of our large number of doctors with diverse interests, the practice is extensively equipped and capable of managing many conditions that otherwise would require more expensive specialist care. This extensive capability frequently attracts patient referrals from other clinics as well as the local Redland Hospital.

Our doctors have a commitment to providing a high standard of General Practice care along with continuing medical education, and the surgery is registered as a training practice for the Australian General Practice Training Program. We uphold the code of ethics outlined by the AMA and a copy of this code is available for your perusal on the patient information board.
