Ancora Consultants is completely mobile and can travel to you or provide online consultations.

Ancora Consultants provides Behaviour Support Intervention as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), using a neuroaffirming therapy-based approach.. Our Behaviour Support Practitioners work with ages 15 years and up, right through to adults. Ancora Consultants was founded by Jocasta Clark back in 2016 and her staff are passionate about providing quality advice and services to their clients based on individualised current best practice approaches. The Ancora symbol means 'stability, security and hope, even in the most challenging of circumstances'.

I write this post with an array of mixed feelings after what has been a wonderful ride since 2016.
At the end of March 2025, Ancora Consultants will close its doors after providing high quality behaviour support services to Newcastle and the Hunter for 9 years.
To our clients (and their families and support people), THANK YOU! It has been an absolute pleasure working with each and every one of you to help you achieve your goals and improve your quality of life.

Let’s talk about sexuality and relationships!
No seriously! It’s an important subject and people with disabilities are just as much ‘sexual beings’ as people without a disability. That’s why it’s important they receive education about SAFE behaviours in relationships with others.
Our Director is attending a training day in Sydney on how to run the ‘So Safe’ program because the rights, safety and dignity of individuals with a disability when it comes to sexuality and relationships, is important to us too!

At Ancora Consultants, we celebrate neurodiversity EVERY DAY but it sure is nice to have a whole week in recognition of it 😊

When it comes to inclusion, neurodiversity refers to a world where neurological differences are recognised and respected.

Depending on how our brains are wired we think, move, process information and communicate in different ways. Neurodiversity is an umbrella term used to describe alternative thinking styles such as Dyslexia, DCD (Dyspraxia), Dyscalculia, Autism and ADHD. But regardless of labels, neurodiversity is about recognising those who think differently.� �Approximately 15-20% of the population has a neurological difference. Instead of labelling people with deficits or disorders, when we use the term neurodiversity, we take a balanced view of an individual’s unique strengths and challenges.
