🌟 Is your child developing their scissor skills? ✂️
Scissor skills are a crucial part of your child’s fine motor development! 🤚 This creative activity is a great way to work on those skills while having fun! One of our clients cut strips of paper into squares and then glued them onto a cup to resemble a glass of orange juice! 🍊🍹
This hands-on activity not only supports hand-eye coordination and concentration but also encourages creativity and fine motor precision!

Toileting is a normal developmental skill that all children learn. However, for children to succeed at using the toilet independently, they need to be physically and mentally ready!🚽🧠✨ Toileting involves the mastery of a complex range of sensory processing, motor, language and cognitive skills. This includes:
* interoceptive awareness (knowing what it feels like)
* physiological control of bladder and bowel
* balance
* postural stability
* core strength
* motor coordination
* expressive communication (verbal and/or non-verbal)
* receptive communication (comprehension, understanding)
* interest and attention
* executive functions (task initiation, sequencing)

It is important for parents/caregivers to support the skills needed to use the toilet before pushing for toileting independence. Typical development of toileting skills occurs between the ages of 1-7 years; however, learning to use the toilet takes time! 🚽🧠✨
