This Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week (BIEDAW) we’re ‘Unpacking the Why’ and reminding everyone that each person’s experience of an eating disorder is unique.

Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses, and there’s not one factor that causes an eating disorder to develop.

While body image can play a big role for many, there are also other factors that can impact a person’s experience – such as trauma, sensory sensitivities, genetics, personality traits, family history and co-occurring health conditions like diabetes, endometriosis and other conditions.

Join us and
and this as we ‘Unpack the Why’ and build empathy and understanding for the many people whose experiences of an eating disorder may lead them to feel ‘invisible’ behind common stereotypes.
