A reminder for everyone to perform regular skin self examination for early detection of skin cancer. Here's a great video that demonstrates how simple it is.. !

It is important to check your own skin thoroughly from top to toe,
including soles of your feet and if you notice any new or changing spots get them checked out immediately by your Dr ! Early detection of skin cancer can save lives! Taking photos of your own skin ( and perhaps getting someone to help you!) can help in identifying new spots

Just a reminder, that an aviation medical is not a substitute for having a good GP and having a periodic check up- just like a well maintained aircraft! Prevention is better than cure, and there are many medical conditions which can be prevented by simply having a periodic check up. An aviation medical is an assessment, but does not offer treatment. I would like to encourage all pilots to have an easily accessible, regular GP in your local area.
