Simon is a highly experienced healthcare executive and surgeon, with a career spanning clinical practice, medical leadership, and major healthcare transformation. He has led clinical services, overseen medical governance, driven organisational change, and championed patient safety and quality across complex healthcare environments.

Throughout his career, Simon has been deeply involved in medical education, clinical research, and the development of innovative clinical services. He is passionate about fostering a positive, engaged, and collaborative medical workforce to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

It was fantastic to see the team from Charlestown Private Hospital step forward on Sunday to support such an important cause.

Our VMOs and employees proudly took part in Melanoma March, supporting the important work of Melanoma Institute Australia. This national initiative brings communities together across the country to raise vital funds for melanoma research, education, prevention and patient support.

Melanoma remains one of Australia’s most commonly diagnosed cancers, and we know that early detection and continued investment in research are critical to improving outcomes. Events like Melanoma March not only generate essential funding, but also spark important conversations about sun safety, regular skin checks and proactive health management messages that are especially relevant in Australia.

What made the day even more meaningful was seeing our clinicians and hospital team members give their time outside of work to support a cause that impacts so many Australian families. It’s a great example of the compassion, leadership and community spirit that sits at the heart of our Charlestown team and across Nexus more broadly.
