Southland Medical Centre

Southland Medical Centre Southland Medical Centre was established in 1970 and has grown to an eight doctor medical centre that offers a wide range of medical services.

Our aim is to improve your current health and prevent further illness. Our general practice is a family clinic that has been servicing the Cheltenham community for over 40 years. We also offer onsite psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry, a denture clinic, a dietitian, a diabetic nurse educator, and a practice nurse. We are an AGPAL-accredited practice and have been chosen to train doctors who want

to specialise in General Practice. Our modern comfortable waiting room has a reading nook for children. A large car park is available with a pedestrian ramp and wheelchair to allow easy access to the surgery.

2) All patients are required to wear a mask in our waiting room and during consultation.

There's more information and detail in the newsletter about what this applies to and exceptions to the rule. Read on to find out more.

We were featured because of our team's approach to preventative health, and how we are managing chronic disease at an organisational level.

Southland Medical Centre is pleased to announce that Dr. Andrew Hewitt has joined our practice and is now seeing patients!

"I am very excited to welcome Dr. Hewitt to our practice, he has a great blend of top-notch clinical education and knowledge with a strong passion for preventative care. I also expect that he will be an active member of the practice, and we will see the benefits of his appointment for years to come” - Peter Enten.

Andrew graduated from the University of Queensland and subsequently worked at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital before moving to Melbourne to complete his training in General Practice.Prior to embarking in Medicine he studied science at Monash University.

Andrew enjoys all aspects of General Practice, however he has a particular interest in enabling patients to manage their own health through preventative care. Andrew is currently available for consultation on Tuesdays and Fridays.
