Lumi Nest Care is delighted to present a new SIL house in CLYDE Melbourne

At Lumi Nest Care, our focus is on creating a warm, respectful environment where each person feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals.

About the Home

This thoughtfully designed home accommodates two participants and includes an Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA) room, providing both privacy and reliable support when needed. The home is suited to individuals seeking a supportive, calm, and positive living environment.

✅ Brand New House
• Local café, school, grocery and gym
• Each participant will have their private bathroom (no shared bathroom)

✅ Assistance with daily living and building independence skills
✅ Tailoring the house to participant’s preference

This week, Lumi Nest Care completed an in-house Medication Training refresher with our support staff and management team. Although our staff are already qualified, trained, and highly experienced, we believe ongoing upskilling is essential. Refresher training helps us stay aligned with best practices and ensures we continue delivering safe, high-quality care within our SIL homes.

The session was facilitated by Australian Pacific Training Solutions, led by trainer Heather. The refresher covered key areas including:

✔ Medication administration procedures
✔ Safe storage and documentation
✔ Understanding medication charts and PRNs
✔ Common medication errors and how to prevent them
✔ Client-centered communication while administering medication
✔ Practical scenarios

Training refreshers not only reinforce compliance, but also give workers confidence in their role, promote consistency across the team, and strengthen incident prevention. It allows us to reflect on our current practices, identify improvements, and maintain a strong safety culture.
