Confidence is valuable in this industry.
But confidence without curiosity is where standards start slipping.

The providers families stay with keep asking questions, keep listening, and keep improving.

Because retention doesn’t come from knowing everything.
It comes from never assuming you do.

The NDIS industry providers deserve a shoutout.
The industry is hard.
But strong providers are building it better every day.

Keep going team. You can do this!

If you are a provider who needs to grow and stabilise, DM the word "GROW" and we can share how to get started.

Come look at NDIS standards with me real quick...

If I was serious about it...
I’d start with the little things.

The progress note that gets done tomorrow.
The handover that’s “she was fine.”
The shift that ran late but no one mentioned it.
The complaint that felt small… so it got brushed off.

None of it feels dramatic.

But stack those up over 6 months?

That’s when:
– Families start feeling unsure.
– Your good staff start getting frustrated.
– You start firefighting instead of leading.

Standards don’t usually collapse in one big moment. They erode quietly.
If I was serious about standards, I’d tighten the everyday behaviours because remember... Standards are not just what you say. They are reinforced by repeated actions.

Let me know your thoughts on the NDIS Standards.

What you tolerate becomes the standard.
Late documentation.
Shift handovers with no depth.“Good enough” support.
Silence from leadership.
Every ignored behaviour becomes permission.

As an NDIS Provider, standards are everything.

I think an insecure employee is political and f*cks up the culture, regardless of what she or he does. When somebody's getting shine, are you happy for them or are you upset because you're like, "F*ck, I'm not getting my shine."

Does this apply to the NDIS sector? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below..

A provider once told me,
“We don’t know why they leave. They seemed great in the interview.”

When we unpacked it, the issue wasn’t the person.

It was the process.

The job ad talked about flexibility (but not standards.)
The interview focused on availability (not behaviour.)
The onboarding covered systems (but not culture.)

So new staff walked in with one set of expectations.
The business operated with another.

No one was wrong.
But no one was aligned either.

Retention doesn’t start at month six.
It starts before day one.

What you say in recruitment,
what you ask in interviews,
what you reinforce in onboarding...

That’s where retention culture either anchors… or drifts.

Your best worker is watching....

They notice what you tolerate.
They notice who gets protected.
They notice when standards slip.

High performers don’t leave because the work is hard, (they are made for hard work.)

They leave when effort isn’t recognised.
When average is rewarded.
When leadership stays silent.

Your culture isn’t shaped by your best staff.

It’s shaped by what you allow.

If you want your good people to stay, protect the standard.

Food for thought..

Become a World-Class NDIS Provider.

🌍 Being world-class doesn’t mean being the biggest. It means being the provider everyone trusts.

It’s about keeping your staff long-term, building participant loyalty, and leading with culture, not just compliance.

That’s the difference between services that struggle… and services that last.

With nearly two decades in the sector, I’ve seen the cracks, the costs, and the solutions. That’s why the Breaking Barriers Workshop exists: to help providers like you grow with strength, accountability, and culture at the core.

👉 Step up today. Book your workshop and start building the world-class service your staff and participants deserve.
