It has come to the attention of this page, that not only do we have a Dr crisis, but also a policing crisis. As of the 8th of March, our town will be operating on only 3 police. How is this even feasible? Does this fit with WH&S policies? Fatigue? Safe work places? Is the State Government trying to kill our town? What’s next? Paramedics? The noise needs to get louder people. Also have heard that nurses are considering strike action. Not to mention the talk that the Health Service Manager of Condobolin, Kate Power, has refused to pay nurses on call rates. Zero respect for essential workers.

WNSWLHD RESPONDS

Rural and Remote Medical Services (RaRMS) announced its intention to withdraw from Condobolin on 28 February last week. This announcement led to a number of issues being raised in relation to VMO services, retaining doctors and the possible impact this decision may have on the local community. The Condobolin Argus contacted the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) for comment in relation to what the RaRMS decision might mean for the Condobolin Health Service, and the following was their response. “WNSWLHD is in negotiations with Brenshaw Medical on the transition of VMO services,” A WNSWLHD Spokesperson said. “The hospital continues to operate as usual with continued Virtual Rural Generalist Service (videoconferencing), telehealth and Vcare services. “WNSWLHD will also boost telehealth support for patients presenting to Condobolin Health Service. “The 2019/20 budget for the Condobolin Health Service is more than $4 million.”
