The Full Moon in Libra arrives on April 1st at 10:11 pm Eastern Time. While Libra is often spoken about as the sign of peace & harmony, this one tells a more honest story. Because not all peace is real peace. Some of it is maintained, or performed, and some of it comes at the cost of your own truth. This Full Moon is illuminating exactly where that’s been happening.
Libra is ruled by Venus, but in the tarot, Libra corresponds with the Justice card - and Justice doesn’t just hold a scale, she holds a sword. We love to talk about balance, but we rarely talk about the blade. This Full Moon falls in the second decan of Libra, associated with the Three of Swords, a card that is often misunderstood. At first glance it looks like heartbreak, grief, devastation - but sit with it a little longer & something shifts. The swords are not entering the heart, they are being pulled out. What has been held in, endured quietly, or suppressed in order to keep the peace is ready to be released. And that release may not feel gentle.
This lunation forms an axis opposition to Chiron in Aries, bringing this into deeply personal territory. This is about identity, autonomy & the parts of you that learned that being fully yourself might cost you connection. Old wounds around feeling misunderstood, unseen, or unappreciated may rise, but not to punish you. They are showing you where balance has come at too high a price.
At the same time, there is a strong Aries presence in the sky, with the Sun, Chiron, Saturn& Neptune all emphasizing the self. Saturn asks for maturity & responsibility, Neptune dissolves illusion, & Chiron opens the space for healing. Libra holds up the mirror, reflecting how your personal evolution is directly impacting your relationships.
This Full Moon also forms a square to Jupiter in Cancer, amplifying emotions, nostalgia, and the desire for comfort & belonging. You may feel the tension between caring for others & finally tending to yourself, between maintaining the emotional structures you’ve always upheld & questioning whether they truly support you.
But there is support here. A loose trine to Pluto in Aquarius opens the door for real transformation - deep, honest shifts in how you show up in your relationships & what you are no longer willing to carry. This is where truth emerges, conversations deepen & patterns begin to break.
With Venus, ruler of this Full Moon, at home in Ta**us, there is grounding available. This isn’t about blowing everything up - it’s about rooting into your values, your body & your sense of worth. The clarity that comes now isn’t reactive, it’s steady. It’s the kind of knowing that allows you to tell the truth without losing yourself.
This Full Moon may reveal where you’ve been over-accommodating, where you’ve silenced yourself & where “balance” has actually meant self-abandonment. And it asks you to recognize that peace built on your own suppression was never sustainable.
So let me ask you this…
Where have you been holding the scale, when what was actually needed was the courage to use the sword?
