Dubbo Aboriginal Medical Service (DAMS)

On Friday our Aboriginal Health Worker in the Connected Beginnings program, Cassie attended the Welcome Mob to Big School event organised by TRRA who are partnered with the department of education. The event was designed to support our young ones as they transition into primary school. Creating a culturally safe and welcoming space where families can connect with local services, build relationships, and feel confident about starting “big school.”
Cassie attended the day to provide information and resources to community, as we provide culturally safe support services for children 0-5 and their parents. We focus on supporting and strengthening children in all stages of early childhood by helping navigate referral pathways and allied health as well as doing annual 715 health checks.

Burn Awareness Month

Burn injuries can happen in seconds — but the impact can last a lifetime. This month, we’re raising awareness about burn prevention, and safety. Simple actions can help keep our families and communities safe: Keeping hot drinks and food away from children, check water temperature before bath, stay safe around heaters, fires, and BBQs, protect skin from the sun.

Together, we can help prevent burns and protect ourselves and those around us.

CTG Aboriginal Health
This month, we celebrate diversity, inclusion, strength, and the right for everyone to feel safe, respected, and valued for who they are. Pride is about community, acceptance, and standing together against discrimination and inequality. We honour the voices, stories, and resilience of LGBTQIA+ people and communities.

At CTG Aboriginal Health , we are committed to creating welcoming and culturally safe spaces for all people, all identities, and all families. Together, we can continue to listen, learn, support, and celebrate one another.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month Australia

This June, we stand together to raise awareness about bowel cancer and the importance of early detection.
Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia — but when found early, it can be successfully treated. Knowing the signs, getting screened, and having conversations with family and friends can save lives.

🔹 Know the signs
🔹 Get checked
🔹 Talk about it
🔹 Support each other

If you’re aged 45–74, regular bowel screening could save your life. Don’t wait for symptoms — get checked today.
