🚨 Coopers Plains Long Acres Volunteer Fire Department Safety Reminder! 🚨

It’s deer season, and that means extra caution is needed, both on the road and in the woods.

🦌 If you’re driving:

Stay alert, especially at dawn and dusk.

Slow down in deer-crossing areas.

Buckle up and arrive safely!

🎯 If you’re hunting:

Wear high-visibility outer clothing.

Use fall protection when up in a stand.

Always identify your target before taking the shot.

Recently, a crash on I-86 was caused by a deer, thankfully, everyone walked away safe and uninjured. Let’s all do our part to keep it that way this season.

In September alone, our dedicated volunteers responded to 27 calls for service from

* 18 EMS calls
* 4 motor vehicle accidents
* fire alarms
* 1 building fire
* 1 CO alarm
* 1 standby
* 1 AFA (false alarm)

Every call represents neighbors helping neighbors, and we’re proud to serve our community with courage, compassion, and commitment.

🚒 We’re looking for more heroes like YOU!
Whether you’re interested in firefighting, EMS, support services, or community outreach there’s a place for you on our team. No experience necessary we provide the training, the tools, and the teamwork.

‼️‼️It’s wineglass marathon day. Please use extra caution if you are out on the roadways. Also plan accordingly as many roads are closed or detoured. We have a crew standing by at the station for the duration of the race, don’t hesitate to dial 911 in the event of an emergency‼️‼️

Kicking off National Fire Prevention Week! 🔥🚒
We had a great time participating in The Home Depot’s Kids’ Safety Day! Thank you to AMR, Painted Post FD, Forest View–Gang Mills FD, Caton FD, and Coopers Plains–Long Acres FD for joining us. It was a fantastic day for kids (and adults!) to explore the apparatus, learn about fire safety, and meet the first responders who serve our community.

We’re already looking forward to doing it again next year! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

Due to drought conditions NYS has issued a burn ban starting today October 2nd - October 15th.

Governor Kathy Hochul has issued a Statewide Burn Ban beginning today, October 2, 2025, until October 15, 2025, due to drought conditions and potential for wildfires.

🔥The Ban prohibits the starting of outdoor fires for the purpose of brush and debris disposal, as well as uncontained campfires, recreational fires, and open fires used for cooking. 🔥
