For a long time, many of us have been taught that certainty comes first — that we need a perfect plan before we move. But some of the most meaningful shifts don’t arrive through certainty. They arrive through openness.

Openness to different ways of working,
different definitions of success,
different rhythms of effort, different paths than the ones we were handed

Being open to possibility doesn’t mean being unstructured or unfocused.
It means loosening the grip just enough to notice what’s actually available. Often, clarity follows action — not the other way around.

This year, I’m choosing to build with openness and to stay curious.
To let better ideas emerge, to learn to think differently. To allow space for what wants to take shape.

That’s the energy I’m carrying forward. Like if you are on the same page this year :)

I love this, it is so relevant :)

Your nervous system is not separate from your business — it’s the engine of it.
If you’re constantly overwhelmed, your business will feel chaotic.
If you’re stuck in survival mode, you’ll default to short-term thinking.
Sustainable business requires nervous system safety. You don’t fix a wired nervous system with better productivity.

You improve it by designing your business in a way that your nervous system can actually run with.

Happy new year! New episode out today. When planning your year, you don’t need a bigger year.
You need a better-designed one.

So many people start the year pushing harder —
when what they really need is better structure, clearer boundaries, and a nervous system that isn’t stuck in survival mode.

In this episode of Shine the Spotlight, I talk about:
• when a business quietly becomes “just a job”
• why overworking can be a defence mechanism, not ambition
• how busyness reduces clarity and blocks strategic thinking
• and why your nervous system is not separate from your business — it’s the engine of it

This isn’t about hustle or productivity hacks. It’s about applied psychology architecture — designing life and work systems that support your health, your freedom, and the lifestyle you actually want.

New Years reflection... I’ve been thinking a lot about why so many capable people build businesses that slowly take more than they give.

It's not because they’re doing it wrong.
And, it's not because they lack ambition.
But because most business advice was never designed for real life humans.

Over the next little while, I’m going to be sharing more about how I think about sustainable business, work, energy, building lifestyle and freedom, and momentum — through a psychological lens.

Less hustle.
Less pressure.
More clarity.
More life.

If you’ve ever felt like your business was supposed to give you more life and freedom… but feels heavier than expected — you’ll probably feel at home here.

Some of the smartest people I work with are the most stuck.

Not because they lack ideas.
Not because they aren’t capable.
But because their mind is doing what it’s trained to do — think deeply, see risk, anticipate consequences.

In start-ups, that can turn into:
• overthinking
• analysis paralysis and procrastination
• waiting for certainty that doesn’t exist

Add in identity risk — What if this fails? What does that say about me? — and the nervous system quite literally moves into protection mode.

When your nervous system doesn’t feel safe, ex*****on slows.
Not because you’re lazy — but because your system is bracing.

This is why strategy alone doesn’t unlock momentum.
You need:
• clarity
• containment
• a nervous system that feels safe enough to move

I have qualifications in both psychology + business, with over two decades of experience as an entrepreneur in rural Australia. This point highlights some of the work I do with founders and business owners - helping smart people stop circling and start executing, calmly and sustainably.

If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you execute next?

🦓 Help Shape Zebrahood

I’m in the early stages of creating Zebrahood — a calm, psychology-based online support space designed for people living with invisible or complex health conditions.

Before anything is finalised, I want to listen.

If you’re someone who:
• lives with fluctuating energy or invisible conditions
• values nervous system support and gentle, evidence-based tools
• wants support that feels grounding, not overwhelming

I’d really value your input.

I’ve created a short questionnaire to better understand what people actually want and need — so Zebrahood is shaped by real experiences, not assumptions.

✨ Your responses will directly guide how this space is created.
✨ There’s no selling — just listening and learning.
✨ You can also choose to be the first to hear when Zebrahood opens.

Thank you for helping shape something intentional, supportive, and meaningful.

The term medical misogyny has received an honourable mention for word of the year by Macquarie Dictionary.

This is not a surprise. It is because it is real, it happens, and it is relatable.

This is some ways to show what it feels like this:
Being told to “just rest."
Being given antidepressants instead of answers.
Waiting a decade for a diagnosis that should’ve taken months.
Feeling like you’re speaking an alien language no one in the room understands.
Feeling dismissed or not heard.

This term — medical misogyny — isn’t just a definition.
It’s validation.
It’s truth.
It’s lived experience.
And it’s why women’s stories matter now more than ever.

If you’ve ever felt dismissed or unseen…you’re not alone.
And you’re not imagining it.
Be part of the change. Join a space where you are part of the herd.

Shout out to all the Zebra youth and their parents or caregivers out there…
As the school year wraps up, I want to take a moment to acknowledge you. The young people living with invisible, complex conditions who have had to dig deeper, pace harder, rest more, push through flare-ups, navigate brain fog, juggle appointments, and still show up in whatever way you could.

Your perseverance is powerful and definitely not easier. It is super tough.

And a special shout-out to the mumma and dadda bears who have been carrying the emotional, logistical, physical, and invisible load behind the scenes. The ones advocating, emailing teachers, managing meltdowns or migraines, planning around symptoms, cheering from the sidelines, and quietly worrying at night.

It is a tough, isolating gig — one the world doesn’t always see.
But you are seen here.
You are doing an incredible job.
Your love, your patience, your presence… it matters more than you know.

🦓💛 Zebrahood is with you. Always.

In medicine, they say: “When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.”
But… many of us are zebras.

Every week I hear stories of people who have not been seen or heard, misdiagnosed, dismissed, or told “it’s all in your head”…. Many of you will know exactly what I mean.

Zebras are people with complex, invisible, misunderstood conditions.
Like EDS, POTS, fibromyalgia, pelvic conditions, chronic fatigue, MCAS, etc. and the tangled web of symptoms that come with chronic stress and neurodiversity.

I’m creating a space where zebras are finally understood. Where you don’t have to justify your experience. Where your rest is respected, your pain is believed, and your story matters.

Zebrahood is forming.
And I’d love you to be part of it.
