Dress rehearsal for 'The 39 Steps'. This is a fabulous comedy in the style of a radio play from the 1930s and 40s, which was read live and broadcast on the radio, eagerly listened to by families huddled around their radio. Good old fashioned laughs, live sound effects and just a few actors each playing numerous characters. OPENS this week, Friday 24th February. Get your tickets here: www.themountplayers.com

After 16 years of rewarding and successful practice, over 13 years of those at the Gisborne Chiropractic Clinic and 14 years at (what is now-named) PerformanceOne at Kyneton, I have decided to retire from my remedial massage practice. It’s been a difficult decision to reach, as I still love what I do in my job, a huge part of which is the personal connections I’ve made with my clients and colleagues over the years. However, a set of personal circumstances, among which is a wrist injury, has brought forward the decision. The injury, the first work-related injury I’ve sustained in all my years of practice (thanks in no small part to excellent and sage advice in my training all those years ago), does not mean stopping practice altogether, but for the time being, it’s necessary to stop for an extended period to give the injury the best chance of permanent recovery.

My last day at Kyneton will be Saturday 22nd October, and in Gisborne Saturday 12th November. At the time of writing, all appointments are fully booked up to this date.

To all my clients, I say thankyou for your business, wide-ranging (often hilarious) conversations, friendships, loyalty, and of course the opportunity to iron out all those tight and sore spots, through many years. I wish you all the best in health and happiness.

Best regards and cheers – Andrew Williams

Hi folks. I'm now on leave until 10th May. Long-awaited trip to WA to see family and friends I haven't seen for 3 years. Bookings can still be made in the meantime at Gisborne (ring the clinic) or Kyneton (ring the mobile). Just a heads up though, the first 2 weeks I'm back are already booked out! See you all soon enough. :)

Cheers - Andrew

Back at work after 3 weeks' holiday - yay!! Even with the surge in numbers of the omicron variant of COVID-19, it is still possible to practice, which is good news. However more than ever, sound and routine infection control protocols are very much still in place. Details are on the website's COVID-19 page here: www.smartbalancemassage.com.au
If there is any change to ability to practice arrangements, you'll see it here straight away.

A NOTE ON VACCINATIONS:
Under Victoria's DHHS Directions on mandatory vaccination, I am required, as a health practitioner working in a clinic setting, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to practice, and happy to be so. Under the same DHHS Directions, a client seeking remedial massage therapy treatment is not required to be vaccinated. HOWEVER, in order to protect myself, my colleagues, my clients and the community in general, I expect a mutual obligation of my clients to be fully vaccinated to receive treatment.

Cheers and go well everyone - Andrew

Season's greetings to all! I'm now on a little over 3 weeks' holidays, returning on Tuesday 18th January at Gisborne and the day after at Kyneton. Looking forward to the next 3 weeks of a non-enforced-by-COVID break! Cheers - Andrew ⛱🥂

GOOD NEWS!!! Regional Victoria comes out of lockdown at midnight Thursday 9th September, which means I can get back to work.

FEE INCREASE
Some government small business financial support schemes, so necessary for businesses such as mine in these trying times, require for the business to be GST-registered, which my business is as of 1st July. In order to cover this impost, a modest staged fee increase is necessary.

HOW IT WILL WORK
A $5 increase from the time I’m back at work. For example, a 1 hour treatment will be $90, up from $85. Then from 1st January next year, a further $4 increase will apply. By the way, fees haven’t increased in over 3 years, so thanks for your understanding and support with this. Standard concessions will continue to apply.
See you soon for a treatment. You deserve it! Cheers - Andrew

Well here we are again. Hmmm, sounds like the first line of Dolly Parton's late 70s hit. Anyway, as of 1pm yesterday Saturday 21st August, regional Victoria is back in lockdown until midnight of Thursday 2nd September, which means again I need to temporarily suspend practice until then. In the meantime, let's take some more inspiration from Dolly, with her own recent adaptation of her earlier 1973 hit, urging us all to get vaccinated. Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vacci-i-ine! Cheers - Andrew

Aaaaaand, we're back!! Regional Victoria's lockdown ends at midnight tonight 9th August, so normal transmission resumes from tomorrow Tuesday 10th August. Such a continuing roller coaster ride, but let's hope this one lasts, and that Melbourne doesn't have to wait too much longer to come out of lockdown. Cheers - Andrew

I feel like I need a standard message ready for a copy and paste deployment to notify of either shutting down or opening up practice again. That'd be easy, but not particularly creative! Again there is a state-wide lockdown for Victoria - 7 days from 8pm 6th August - which means again I need to cease practice during this period, as remedial massage is not considered by DHHS Victoria to be an essential allied health service that can continue to operate. Tedious but demz da roolz and happy to comply. Pending no further extension, I'll be back on deck from Friday 13th August. Let's hope that date is not an omen for any extension. My bookkeeping and tax affairs have never been so up-to-date!! Cheers - Andrew

28/07/2021

Great news! With the easing of lockdown restrictions, practice is resuming as normal at the Gisborne and Kyneton clinics. Thanks to my ever-loyal and patient clients who have been re-scheduled multiple times recently! See you soon for a well-earned treatment. Cheers - Andrew

21/07/2021

As expected, Victoria's initial statewide 5 day lockdown has been extended for another 7 days. If no further extension occurs again, practice will re-commence Wednesday 28th July in Kyneton and Thursday 29th July In Gisborne. Again, fingers crossed there isn't any!! 🤞
