MY Eudaemonia - with Jade HEALTH, WEALTH, INTEGRITY and HAPPINESS WHAT IS EUDAEMONIA? Eudaemonia is simply a contented state of being happy healthy and prosperous. Autonomy
2.

It is a Greek word (Eudaimonia) that is commonly translated as happiness, however “human flourishing” or “ good life” has been proposed as a more accurate translation. Dr Carol D Ryff conceptualized Eudaemonia as a six-factor structure.

1. Personal Growth
3. Self Acceptance
4. Purpose in Life
5. Environmental Mastery
6. Positive Relations With Others

Make room for Palmarosa in your essential oil collection (right next to Rose and Helichrysum)!

Palmarosa Essential Oil is popular for its skin rejuvenating properties. Although the oil is made from the leaves and stems of palmarosa grass, it has a rose-like aroma. From a chemistry perspective, Palmarosa essential oil is very high in geraniol...just like Rose essential oil! It is no surprise that these oils have a similar aromas and therapeutic benefits.

This uplifting oil has powerful antioxidant properties as well as promoting cellular growth and regeneration. It moisturizes and tones the skin. It is especially useful with animals that are itchy or need liver, cardiovascular, or nervous system support. It is very effective at repelling ticks and mites while still being gentle on the skin.

Emotionally, Palmarosa can help with stress management, calming the mind, and is particularly helpful for jealous or possessive animals. It is also very supportive during seasons of transition.

I love adding Palmarosa to my diffuser recipes and in my skin healing salves and repellant sprays. (Try adding just 2 drops to the Healing Salve Recipe and Skin Rejuvenating Spray.)

How to use Palmarosa Essential Oil Topically with Animals:

- Topical use for horses, cattle, and goats - Apply directly to the area of concern. No additional dilution is necessary but it can be diluted to cover large areas.

- Topical use for medium and large dogs (over 20 lbs.) - Dilute to 5% (10 drops per 10 mL carrier oil) and apply a small amount to your hands apply to the area of concern or along the spine.

- Topical use for small dogs (under 20 lbs.) - Dilute to 2% (4 drops per 10 mL carrier oil) and apply a small amount to your hands apply to the area of concern or along the spine.

- For cats, dilute to 0.5-2% (1-4 drops in 10mL of carrier oil) and apply a small amount to your fingertips and pet along the spine or rub on ear tips. As an alternative you can also diffuse 2-4 drops in your water-based diffuser with the room door open.

- For birds, use 1-10 drops per 4 oz water in a water misting feather spray or diffuse.

Magnolia is the new Lavender!

Magnolia has been used for centuries Chinese traditional health practices, and is known for its emotional benefits along with a fresh and compellingly sweet aroma. I know I am personally OBSESSED with this oil, and as I start to dig into why, it’s no wonder that so many animals love it too!

Also called white champaca or white jade, magnolia flowers have been used in traditional health practices to help create a sense of balance within the body. It’s official genus and species is "Michelia alba" (not to be confused with the Magnolia trees here in Texas!)

Similar to Lavender and Bergamot, Magnolia is primarily composed of Linalool, which can be very calming. If your animal loves this oil, it may be a great one to add into the rotation especially during stressful situations. This is a great alternative for animals (and people) that do not care for the aroma of Lavender.

Magnolia has many of the same properties we love about Lavender such as: respiratory system support, is deeply relaxing, encourages restful sleep, relieves anxiety, and soothes skin.

Magnolia Touch is perfectly diluted and safe to use with all species, although you may wish to dilute it a bit more for topical use with cats and smaller species.

How to use Magnolia Touch (Roller) with Animals:
🐴 For horses (and other large animals), apply along the spine, coronet bands, or directly to the area of concern.
🐶 For dogs, apply to your hands and pet along the spine or directly over the area of concern or between the paw pads of the back feet. No dilution necessary. Great to use during a bedtime massage or before a stressful event like thunderstorms or fireworks!
🐱 For cats, roll a small amount on to your fingers and apply to the ear tips or along the spine. Dilute to 50% if using more than a small amount. Alternatively, you can apply to your cat's favorite blanket or hiding place for aromatic use.
