Osteoporosis:
- Causes bones to become weaker and more fragile, increasing fracture risk.
The good news? Exercise is one of the most effective treatments.
The right exercise can:
✔️ Maintain bone density
✔️ Improve strength and posture
✔️ Reduce falls and fracture risk
Best types of exercise:

This sit-up variation is doing more than just working your abs 👇

Placing the ball between the knees immediately switches on the inner thighs and deep core, helping to stabilise the pelvis and prevent the lower back from dominating the movement.

Alternating each rep adds a subtle rotational challenge, requiring greater control through the obliques and trunk.

Reaching the arms overhead on each sit-up also brings shoulder mobility into play. As the spine flexes and rotates, the shoulders need to move freely through flexion while staying connected to the rib cage — encouraging better shoulder–core integration rather than isolated movement.

The result?

✨ Stronger, more responsive core
✨ Improved coordination between shoulders and trunk
✨ Better movement control through the whole chain

It’s a great example of how a small prop and a simple change in intention can turn a basic sit-up into a full-body, functional exercise.
