Acacia Osteopathy - Darwin Osteopath in Darwin providing comprehensive treatment & management for a wide variety of musculoskel

Blair is a Darwin Osteopath who will endeavour to find the primary cause of pain, not just the symptoms, while using a wide range of techniques to treat patients such as myofascial release, joint mobilisation & manipulation, dry-needling and soft tissue techniques. Blair also uses fascial counterstrain, a gentle technique that aims to relieve tension in the connective tissues that surround nerves, veins, arteries, viscera and ligaments. This allows him to be able treat issues that may be stemming from structures other than just the muscles and joints. Blair enjoys meeting people from all walks of life, treating a wide range of conditions, both acute and chronic, and using osteopathy to help empower them to maximise their health and wellbeing.

Morning aches & pains can make it hard to start the day off with a positive mind frame. Often the ongoing nature of these niggles make it feel as though nothing can be done. The body however, always has a reason for its symptoms and something can be done to mitigate this unpleasant experience.

Often waking up on the wrong side of the bed is blamed for a bad...

Managing pain and exercising doesn’t need to be expensive. A couple of simple pieces of equipment and the weight of your own body is enough to keep active. I just bought some resistance bands online to keep active from the comfort of inside the house whilst avoiding the building heat.

Here is the link to the product I purchased, all the different band strengths and attachments make it possible to adapt to any fitness level and be able to target a lot of different muscle groups. Perfect for the desk worker looking to balance out muscle tension in the upper body. At $25 delivered it is super affordable.

Perfect For Yoga, ABS workout. Elastic Bands Made Of Latex Tubing Used For Strength Training. Gym & Fitness. Sports & Fitness. • Easily Creating Over 30 Different Resistance Levels By Attaching 1.2.3.4.

Have you ever wondered why stress can have such an extreme effect on our bodies? The stress response evolved as a survival mechanism and is deeply ingrained into our biology, but is it still helping the survival of the species, or has it started to do the opposite?

You may have heard the metaphor “exercise is the best form of medicine”, whilst its health benefits are undeniable, exercise and movement should be viewed in different light. It should be thought of like food, a necessity our body needs for sustenance and vitality. The way we perceive exercise can dictate our relationship with it. This article brilliantly discusses this topic and will shed some light on what our daily ‘diet’ of exercise should entail.

Physical activity is often called “medicine” but a better analogy is food. Here’s how to eat a balanced diet.

If you've worked a desk job before, you'll likely be familiar with the aches and pains that go with it. Our ergonomic set up often gets the blame, however this is only a small part of the equation. Our body is looking for something else, something an ergonomic set up cannot provide.

That’s because inflammation is a complex system being affected by multiple factors. Here is a great article that helps to make sense of inflammation and its link with pain.

Got more than your fair share of aches & pains? You might be a little bit inflamed all over, thanks to bad genes, sneaky diseases, aging, stress, smoking, insomnia, etc.
