Our latest Quarterly Report shows sustained improvement in key life areas for participants, including choice and control, community participation, daily living and health and wellbeing.

Data shows participation in community and social activities for participants aged 15 years and older increased from 34% at baseline to 41%.

In the report you can read about Elise, a 35 year old participant from Queensland, who achieved her goal of completing a Certificate III in hospitality. Elise says, ’Don’t let disability stop you from doing what you want. Someone out there can help.’

With NDIS funding she was able to get tailored support, including a hospitality-trained support worker to support her in the kitchen.

By learning the signs and reporting suspicious activity, providers and workers help protect participants’ rights, lift service quality, and safeguard their professional credibility.

As we mark the 25th International Fraud Awareness Week, it’s a good time to boost your knowledge.

Use the Digital Compliance Register to check if the NDIS Commission has taken compliance action against providers or workers you employ or work with. You can also find resources on our website to strengthen your fraud awareness and help prevent future harm to participants.

We are committed to keeping all participants safe from fraud.

In recognition of International Fraud Awareness Week, we’re sharing some tips to help you recognise fraud and learn how to protect yourself.

Some helpful tips include:

🔒 Never share your myGov login details.

🔒 Make sure you know who you are speaking with. If you are unsure, ask them for proof of employment.

🔒 Make sure your plan nominee is someone you trust as they can act on your behalf.

🔒 Only show your NDIS plan to people you know well and trust.

🔒 Always keep records of the things you pay for with your NDIS funds.

🔒 Always check your invoices to make sure you haven’t been charged for services you didn’t receive.

🔒 Don’t use providers who are offering vouchers, gifts or cash.

The Federal Court has fined NDIS provider Lifestyle Solutions a record $2.5 million for repeated safety failures in its Supported Independent Living (SIL) home.

Lifestyle Solutions admitted multiple breaches of the NDIS Act and more than 1,000 breaches of the Reportable Incidents Rules for failing to report serious incidents.

The Court found the home was unsafe for residents and support workers, and that incidents were not properly assessed, managed or responded to.

This is the first Federal Court case of its kind involving abuse in supported accommodation.

Safety for NDIS participants in any setting, including SIL, is non-negotiable. Providers who neglect their safety and reporting obligations risk serious penalties and regulatory action.
