Subtle moments of joy! I have tadpoles in my bird bath which I’m checking on regularly to make sure they don’t dry out. (There’s heaps more than this video captured- maybe 10?) The grass clippings from where I mowed the lawn, and the big dump of recent rain, must be creating the conditions for them to grow. Excited to see how they turn to frogs 🐸 .

Though it’s still bloody humid, some might say tropical, I’m seeing small signs of Autumn 😀 🍂🍁Cooler mornings, plenty of limes, shorter days. A little relief in seasonal rhythms.

Practicing yoga asana (the postures/shapes) gives us time for simplicity. It’s gives us time for conscious focus. “what is my left big toe doing?” “Is my jaw gripping?” “Is my breath deep or shallow?” Moments to be within the body, rather than the noise of the mind. Not to bypass the realities and the chaos of the world, but moments of sanctuary, and glimpses of possibilities of other ways of living.

For years, I’ve found stability through yoga.
It’s helped me to feel grounded when everything else fractured. And things certainly feel fractured lately.
I write about this in my latest Substack essay. If you’re interested to find out more, the link is in my bio ❤️

One of the things I trust about yoga is that, while it’s ancient, it’s still relevant today. It’s time-tested and dependable when the world isn’t. While yoga can be a sanctuary, it isn’t an escape from life. It helps us stay present: grounded in the body, steady enough to remain with uncertainty, discomfort and even chaos. A long-term yoga and meditation practice has held me through very personal periods of disruption. And now, I still return to its simplicity and reliability.
