💡 Myth Busting: Let’s talk about getting pregnant.

There’s a lot of well-meaning advice out there, but not all of it is backed by facts. Let's clear up a few common myths and help you feel more confident on your journey to conception.

“You can’t fall pregnant during your period.”
Not quite! While it’s less likely, it is still possible especially if you have a shorter cycle. S***m can live in your body for several days, so if you ovulate soon after your period ends, pregnancy can happen.

“Stress can stop you from conceiving.”
Stress alone won’t usually stop you getting pregnant, but high levels of ongoing stress can affect ovulation and hormones. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, know that support is available - your mental wellbeing matters.

“Certain positions increase your chances of falling pregnant.”
There’s no proven “best” position. What’s most important is timing — having s*x around your ovulation window gives you the best chance of conceiving. If you’re not sure when that is, we can help you figure it out.

Trying to conceive can bring up a lot of questions and that’s completely normal. We’re here to make things clearer, answer your questions and support you with care that’s grounded in science, expertise and kindness.

Perimenopause vs Menopause: What’s the difference? While they’re closely related, these terms refer to distinct stages in a woman’s reproductive transition.

Perimenopause is the period leading up to menopause, marked by hormonal fluctuations, particularly in oestrogen and progesterone. It can last several years and commonly includes symptoms like irregular periods, hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, and sleep disturbances.

Menopause is reached when a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, signalling the end of ovarian function and fertility. The average age of menopause in Australia is around 51 however it's normal to experience menopause anywhere from 45 - 60.

Understanding these phases is key to managing symptoms and seeking appropriate medical care or hormonal support when needed. Make an appointment with our team or women's health specialists anytime https://bit.ly/3ECUeBI

💡 Thinking about starting a family? A little prep can go a long way. If you’re planning to try for a baby soon, a pre-conception health check is a great place to start. It’s all about making sure your body is supported and ready for the journey ahead.

During your appointment, we can:
• Chat through your health history and lifestyle
• Check things like blood pressure, thyroid and vitamin levels
• Make sure your vaccinations are up to date
• Help you understand your cycle and when you’re most fertile
• Talk about starting a prenatal supplement (hello, folate!)
• Answer any questions or concerns you might have

Everyone’s path to pregnancy looks a little different, and that’s okay. Whether you’re ready now or just planning ahead, we’re here to support you through every step of your journey.

Book a pre-conception check with our team today. https://bit.ly/3ECUeBI
