Today on International Women’s Day, we recognise the women who support families, workplaces and communities every day, including the many women across the Capital Radiology team in all roles and backgrounds.

This year’s theme, Balance the Scales, reminds us that equality, inclusion and wellbeing matter, and that women’s health deserves the same attention they give to others.

At Capital Radiology, we're proud of the multi‑skilled and talented women who hold up our business. Our doctors, medical imaging technologists, nurses and receptionists who work together to provide the best care at every step.

We’d like to encourage all women to take a moment for themselves and make their own health and wellbeing a priority.

Many women experience breast changes throughout life, and some are not serious. However, any new change should be checked with your GP so you can understand what’s happening with confidence.

If you notice a new lump, a change in breast shape or size, ni**le changes, unexpected discharge, skin dimpling or ongoing pain, speak with your GP. Not every change means cancer, but every change deserves to be checked.

At Capital Radiology, our specialist teams provide a range of breast imaging services to provide clear, accurate results as quickly as possible.

Are you due for a mammogram? Your breast health matters, take the next step and speak with your GP about a referral to Capital Radiology.

This Endometriosis Awareness Month, it’s important to remember that pain that interrupts your daily life is not normal.

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 7 Australian women, yet many live with symptoms for years before receiving answers. If you’re experiencing severe period pain, pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, bloating or fatigue, it may be time to speak with your GP.

Your doctor may refer you for a pelvic ultrasound or transvaginal ultrasound to help investigate what’s causing your symptoms.

At Capital Radiology, our experienced radiologists use imaging to support accurate and timely diagnosis.
Do not wait. Talk with your GP about a referral to Capital Radiology.

As Cardiac Awareness Month comes to a close, Capital Radiology is proud to support patients in taking proactive steps towards heart health 💙

Not all heart issues show up at rest. A cardiac stress test assesses how your heart performs under exertion, helping identify problems that may not appear during routine checks.

A cardiac stress test can help:
• Assess how well your heart responds to physical stress
• Identify reduced blood flow to the heart
• Investigate symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath or fatigue
• Support timely diagnosis and treatment options

This test is commonly recommended for patients with symptoms, known heart conditions, or risk factors for heart disease.

Remember that understanding your heart health starts with the right conversation.

This Cardiac Awareness Month, Capital Radiology is committed to helping patients stay one step ahead of heart disease by raising awareness of early detection scans, including CTCA 💙

A CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) is a safe, painless scan that provides detailed images of your coronary arteries to check for narrowing or blockages.

CTCA can help:
• Detect coronary artery disease early
• Identify blockages that may lead to chest pain or heart attack
• Support timely diagnosis and treatment planning
• Provide reassurance and clarity

Follow along this month as we share more about the scans that can help detect your risk of heart attack and stroke 💙

At Capital Radiology, we’re here to help you stay on top of your heart health 💙

This Cardiac Awareness Month, assess your risk of heart disease with a Calcium Score - a quick CT scan that detects early plaque build-up in the coronary arteries.

This effective scan can:
• Detect early signs of heart disease
• Assess future heart attack risk
• Support timely prevention and treatment

No recovery time required, with timely appointments available at Capital Radiology.

This Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, your health is our priority and knowing the signs matters 💙

Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent cancer” because symptoms can be subtle and easy to miss. Sadly, only 31% of Australians are aware of this.

Watch for the following symptoms:
• Ongoing bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Feeling full quickly
• Frequent or urgent urination

If symptoms are new, persistent, or don’t feel right, speak with your GP.

Medical imaging plays an important role in supporting early detection. At Capital Radiology, we work closely with patients and referring doctors to provide timely, high-quality diagnostic imaging.

This month, we’re proud to support ovarian cancer awareness and women’s health across our community 💙
