Today we proudly celebrated the graduation of 13 ECA staff members who have successfully completed their Certificate IV in Ageing Support.

Over the past year, these dedicated individuals have shown outstanding commitment to enhancing their skills and knowledge, strengthening the care and support we provide to our community.

Today, a fantastic day was had by the river! Residents made the most of the beautiful weather while indulging in a delicious fish and chips lunch. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and great conversation, making it a truly wonderful outing that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. 🌞🐟🍟

And that’s a wrap on a fantastic week of Olympic Games at Wharparilla Lodge! Throughout the week we saw plenty of laughs, friendly competition and great sportsmanship from our residents.
A massive congratulations to Gary Wilson, who took home an incredible nine medals across the week—an outstanding achievement!
Well done also to the Alexander Wing, who finished the games with the highest overall points.
A big thank you to all the residents who participated in the events and to those who came along to watch and cheer everyone on. The support and enthusiasm made the week truly special. I’m sure the lifestyle team will be sleeping well tonight after such a busy and fun-filled week.

Day 4 of the Wharparilla Lodge Olympic Games Week was another exciting and action-packed day! Residents eagerly took part in Shot Put, Ten Pin Bowling and Indoor Bowls, with plenty of friendly competition as everyone aimed for the chance to take home the gold. The hall was filled with laughter, cheers and great sportsmanship throughout the day. Congratulations to all of our amazing competitors for giving it their best effort! 🏅

Day 3 of the Wharparilla Lodge Olympic Games was another fantastic, fun-filled day! 🎉 The sounds of laughter and cheering echoed throughout Engelbert Hall as residents enthusiastically took part in Ping Pong Egg Toss, Air Hockey and Volleyball.
It was wonderful to see such great sportsmanship, teamwork and plenty of smiles all around. Congratulations to all of today’s medal winners — a fantastic effort by everyone involved!
Make sure to rest up, because tomorrow promises to be another exciting day of Olympic fun! 🏅✨

It was another fun-filled day at Day 2 of the Wharparilla Lodge Olympic Games! 🎉
Residents took part in Bean Bag Toss, Javelin and Big Bobs, with plenty of friendly competition and lots of laughter echoing throughout Engelbert Hall. The energy and enthusiasm on display made for a truly wonderful day.
Congratulations to today’s medal winners – what a fantastic effort by everyone involved! 🏅

Residents embraced the competitive spirit today with three exciting events held throughout the day: Bean Bag Toss, Golf (with a twist!), and Shooting. The energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship on display were truly inspiring.

🚲 Volunteer Bike Pilots Wanted
Help Our Residents Feel the Wind in Their Hair Again!

Our residents have stories to tell, memories to share, and a love of the outdoors that never fades. We are looking for caring community members to join our Volunteer Bike Program and help take residents on safe, supported bike rides around our local area.

This program gives older people the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and meaningful connection — all from the comfort of a specially designed bike.

*Gently pedaling a three-wheeled bike
*Taking residents on short, scenic rides
*Sharing conversation and companionship
*Creating moments of joy and connection
No racing required — just a steady pace and a kind heart 💛

*Are friendly, patient and reliable
*Can commit to occasional weekday rides
*Are willing to complete required checks (Police Check & orientation)

Today we celebrated Waitangi Day. Residents were treated to a special talk by our staff member, Jo, who shared insights into her New Zealand culture. Jo then assisted residents to make their very own poi balls and provided a demonstration on how to use them. It was a wonderful hands-on experience enjoyed by all. Thank you so much, Jo, for sharing your culture with us.
