Who's with me??? Repeat after me....

This year, I’m choosing peace.
Peace in my body.
Clarity in my mind.

Gentleness in the way I heal.

I’m attracting what feels safe, grounding, and nourishing —
both personally, and in the space I hold for others.

Healing doesn’t have to be rushed.
You don’t have to do it alone.
And you’re allowed to rise softly.

✨ Who’s with me? Let’s rise together. ✨
If you’re ready to choose calm over chaos,
growth over survival,
and healing over holding it all in…...

Welcome back to reality — Manty is back after a short break 🤍

While Manty has been quieter online and slower with emails, she didn’t step away completely only for 2 days to be honest.

Last week, Manty returned to the floor supporting two participants — because even when offline, her commitment to her clients always remains and with the extreme heat her and her family decided to head home rest and recharge where possible.

A few of the needed details now Manty is Back on deck fully.

✨ Bookings are now open.

NDIS Supports
All NDIS supports can be booked via email or phone, including free 30-minute meet & greets.

Counselling, Mentoring & Coaching
Sessions can be booked via email or text, with our new online booking system going live this week (how exciting!).

Manty is genuinely happy to be back doing what she loves — supporting, guiding, and walking alongside people in meaningful ways.

🌿 Gentle reminder
Manty isn’t on the clock 24/7. She’s human and values a healthy work–life balance. Buisness hours ar 9am-5pm.

• Emergencies will always be responded to in a timely manner
• Non-urgent matters will likely be addressed in your next session

In the meantime, this is a chance to practise re-regulation and lean into the tools you’re building — because growth also happens between sessions.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued trust.

It truly means the world.
— Manty 🤍

Why Childhood Sexual Abuse & Grooming Affects Adults Differently.

One of the most misunderstood things about childhood sexual abuse and grooming is how it shows up later in life.

Many survivors don’t identify with the word “trauma” — because they functioned, coped, achieved, or stayed outwardly strong.

But early trauma doesn’t disappear.
It gets stored in the nervous system.

This is why adults who experienced childhood sexual abuse or grooming may notice:
feeling unsafe even when nothing is “wrong”
-difficulty trusting others or themselves
-people-pleasing or fear of conflict
-emotional shutdown or overwhelm
-chronic guilt, shame, or self-blame
-patterns of unhealthy or unsafe relationships
-a body that stays tense, alert, or exhausted

These responses are not personality flaws.
They are learned survival strategies.
As a child, your nervous system adapted to survive a situation you could not control.
As an adult, those same adaptations may now feel confusing, exhausting, or limiting.
Healing isn’t about revisiting every memory.
It’s about:
-restoring a sense of safety
-learning how your body responds to threat
-rebuilding trust at a pace that feels manageable
-understanding that nothing about these responses is a failure

At New Light Disability & Counselling, trauma-informed support focuses on helping people feel safe in their bodies again — without pressure, judgement, or being pushed before they’re ready.

If you recognise yourself in this, support is available when you choose it.
There is no rush.
And there is nothing wrong with you 🤍

10/01/2026

There are wounds that don’t come from a single moment —
they come from being slowly shaped to believe what was happening was normal, loving, or your fault.

That’s what grooming does.
It teaches a child to doubt their instincts.
To stay quiet.
To feel responsible for adult behaviour they never chose.

Many adults who experienced childhood sexual abuse or grooming carry the impact long after the memories blur:
chronic anxiety or hypervigilance
shame that doesn’t make logical sense
people-pleasing or fear of conflict
difficulty trusting boundaries
a quiet belief that something is “wrong” with them.

None of this means you’re broken.
It means your nervous system learned how to survive.

You don’t have to remember everything for it to have been real.

You don’t have to justify your pain.
And you don’t have to carry it alone.

At New Light Disability & Counselling, we offer trauma-informed, compassionate support for adults and young people who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or grooming.
Support is gentle.

Your story is respected.
And you are always in control of the pace.
If this post speaks to you, you’re welcome to reach out when — and if — you’re ready.
Even a quiet first step is enough 🤍

My dad used to say:
“Play each day like a football match — one quarter at a time.”
And on the really hard days he’d add:
“Baby steps, Manty… baby steps.”

So this became my mantra:
“Take each day one quarter at a time — even if it means taking baby steps.”

Whats a quote, saying or mantra that you use?

🌿 Community Care & Safety During Extreme Weather 🌿

Today’s heat and fire conditions can feel overwhelming — especially for children, people with disability, those living with trauma, anxiety, sensory sensitivities, or anyone already feeling stretched.

At New Light Disability & Counselling, we want you to know: 🤍 Your worry makes sense
🤍 Your body’s stress response is valid
🤍 You are not weak for feeling unsettled — you are human

Gentle Safety & Wellbeing Tips
• Stay indoors where possible, close windows & curtains early
• Keep hydrated — small, regular sips help regulate the nervous system
• Use fans, cool cloths, or foot soaks to manage body temperature
• Reduce sensory overload (dim lights, quiet spaces, calming music)
• Check in on neighbours, elderly family, and those living alone
• If you have a pool or dam accessible, clearly mark it for emergency services if safe to do so

For emotional regulation today
• Slow breathing (in for 4, out for 6)
• Name 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear
• Limit doom-scrolling — check updates at set times only

If you or someone you support becomes overwhelmed It’s okay to pause plans, cancel non-essential travel, and prioritise safety. Emotional safety matters just as much as physical safety.
