As we age and most definitely found as a parent we often talk about and with it take a sense of pride in our children’s ‘firsts’; their first smile, crawl, walk etc even though we know intrinsically that whilst they are developmental milestones for our bundles of joy they are not seismic in terms of unique developmental or achievements
As a consultant, coach and business owner, the key piece that drives me to continue in the joy and full sense of pride seeing people and businesses achieving things they neither never believed possible or had not yet had the courage to believe in or dream.
Over 3 yrs ago I became involved with No Limitts, (Australian Charity and NDIS Registered Provider) through the most serendipitous of circumstances; football coaching and President of our local Football Club. The project was to assist them with their compliance framework and systems to transition from WA State based governance to the National NDIS Framework in order to maintain their registration, which had a 6 month timeline.
Now, anyone who has met Jus will know she is not scared to dream, and a personal one being to do something special to embed Bush’ legacy within No Limitts. Bush was an ocean loving individual with a strong passion for fishing, he just so happened to be a person with disabilities and through No Limitts helped him live his life; a life with limitless possibilities.
Covid was a real challenge for many smaller family operated businesses, and No Limitts was no different. It had a real impact. However a core team stuck together, dug in and we began restructuring and refocusing the businesses’ endeavours.
During this time, in fact a little over 2 yrs ago a dream was born. To buy a boat that was purpose built to welcome aboard ALL people with disabilities so they can travel, sail and fish for free!
Well, this week the boat 🛥️ arrived, and with it a massive dose of reflection, memories, adoration, respect and privilege I feel for becoming involved with an organisation that at it’s heart has true core values of independence, full limitless lives with a lens/paradigm of “how can we/they” rather than “why they cannot”. Albeit it makes my role of compliance a tad more difficult 🤣🤣
Now, and having operated as a Non-Executive Director to the Board for the last couple of years, a true family friend to Ron, Jus and Chayse I believe their story, the story of No Limitts, that so often we are poor about cheering 📣 needs to be heard.
Deeply humbled and privileged to be involved in the last 3 years of No Limitt’s journey
