In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, we are proud to have organised our 2nd annual raffle to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. 🎟️

Breast cancer affects 1 in 7 women and 1 in 550 men during their lifetime. Every ticket helps life changing research and support. 🩷

✨ Three luxe prize packs filled with health, wellness, and self care goodies are up for grabs. Valued at over $1,000 in total! ✨

It’s Women’s Health Week! (1st - 5th Sept) 🌸

I love the theme for this year - “Say Yes to You”

As women, we often give so much of ourselves to others - but our health and wellbeing matter too!

Today may mark the end of Endometriosis Awareness Month, but my commitment to helping those impacted by endo never ends!

⚡️Axillary Web Syndrome (AWS), or cording ⚡️

❔ AWS is a common side effect following a sentinel node biopsy or axillary lymph node dissection in breast cancer treatment. It often presents as tight, rope or cord-like structures in the armpit, chest, or arm. Most cords develop within 2-8 weeks post surgery.

💥 Aws can lead to discomfort, restricted shoulder movement, and difficulty with daily activities.

💆🏼‍♀️ As a myotherapist, I focus on restoring mobility and reducing pain through gentle soft tissue work and targeted stretching. By addressing tension and improving lymphatic flow, myotherapy can help ease the restrictions caused by aws, supporting recovery and enhancing overall function.

⚡️ Scar tissue after breast cancer:
what you need to know ⚡️

After a mastectomy, lumpectomy, lymph node removal or breast reconstruction, you are left with a scar.
Scar tissue forms as the body’s natural healing process, but for some people, these scars can thicken and adhere to surrounding muscles and tissues. This can cause restricted movement, a feeling of tightness or pulling, pain or discomfort.

Radiation treatment can cause fibrosis of the breast and chest wall. Fibrosis is hard, dense scar tissue. This makes the tissues feel stiff and less stretchy. Radiation fibrosis can happen many months or even years after having radiotherapy.

Follow your post treatment care guidelines as advised by your doctor or oncology team and make sure to consult with your surgeon before starting treatment and management for scar tissue.

Mother’s Day Gift Certificates 🌷

Give the perfect gift for mum or that special woman in your life this Mother’s Day. 💕

Being a mum myself, I understand how hard it is to make time for yourself sometimes. So a Myotherapy gift certificate is the perfect way to give mum that much needed ‘me time’ and for her to prioritise self care so she can be the best version of herself.

are coming up, which means I have limited availability for next month. So, I recommend booking in early as appointments are already filling up.
