📰 You may have seen vitamin B6 in the news recently...

💊More people are being diagnosed with vitamin B6 toxicity — often without even realising they were taking too much.

🔋This is most commonly due to over the counter products such as supplements, energy drinks or weight loss shakes.

🛑 Before You Supplement...
While vitamins can support your health, self-prescribing—especially in high doses or when taking a variety of supplements —can do more harm than good.

🥼 Many people don’t realise they’re taking too much through multivitamins, energy products, and overlapping supplements.

👩‍⚕️ That’s why it’s best to get individualised guidance from a qualified practitioner who understands your body, your needs, and how to use supplements safely.

✨ Your health is unique — your supplements should be too.

🚶‍♀️ Just 10 Minutes Can Make a Big Difference! 🩺

New research has confirmed that a 10-minute walk after meals can significantly reduce blood sugar spikes and improve insulin sensitivity — even more so than longer walks taken later in the day.

🔥 One study showed that walking immediately after eating led to lower peak glucose levels than a 30-minute walk taken later.
👣 This simple habit helps your muscles soak up glucose, improving your body’s response to insulin — naturally.

Whether you’re managing insulin resistance, prediabetes, or thyroid-related blood sugar imbalances, this is an easy win you can add to your day.

✨ It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing things smarter🧠

🚫 Let’s talk PLASTICS + HORMONES 🚫

Did you know that many everyday plastics contain chemicals like BPA (Bisphenol A)—a known endocrine disruptor?

This means BPA can mimic or interfere with your body’s hormones—particularly your s*x hormones (like estrogen and testosterone) and your thyroid hormones.

🧠 Because your endocrine system is a delicate communication network, these disruptions can contribute to symptoms like:
✔️ Irregular or heavy periods
✔️ Fertility issues
✔️ Low libido
✔️ Fatigue and brain fog
✔️ Weight gain and thyroid dysfunction
✔️ Reduced muscle mass and strength
✔️ Mood changes or irritability
✔️ Lowered testosterone and s***m quality

💡 The good news? You can reduce your exposure:

✅ Switch to glass or stainless steel containers
✅ Avoid heating food in plastic
✅ Choose BPA-free cans and bottles
✅ Say no to plastic-wrapped hot foods and thermal receipts
✅ Look for “BPA-free” labels—but also watch out for “BPS,” which can be just as harmful

🌏 Bonus benefit? Reducing plastic helps protect our environment too. Plastic pollution affects our oceans, wildlife, and food chain—so by protecting your hormones, you’re also protecting the planet. 💚

Your hormones do so much for your health—let’s give them the support they need 💛

Feeling constantly tired but your iron supplements aren't helping? 🩸
Iron deficiency isn’t always just about low iron intake — it’s often a sign of something deeper going on.

Holistic health care looks beyond the surface to uncover why your iron is low. Whether it’s poor absorption, gut health issues, heavy periods, thyroid dysfunction, or something else entirely — we work to identify and address the root cause.

Because topping up iron without solving the underlying issue is like pouring water into a leaky bucket 💧

Hi, I’m Jacqui — a Capricorn Coast-based naturopath with a passion for helping you uncover what’s really going on behind each individuals unique set of symptoms.

After years of seeing people dismissed or given band-aid solutions, I knew there had to be a better way. That’s why I combine functional testing with personalised, evidence-informed care to get to the root cause — whether that’s poor digestion, hormonal imbalances, hidden nutrient deficiencies, poor liver function, or chronic stress burning you out.

I believe in blending science with nature to help you reclaim energy, vitality, and balance — for the long haul.

I have learnt that continual learning and development is what keeps me vital, so since completing my Bachelor of Health Science, I have continued to learn and stay up to date on the most recent research by attending regular webinars. I’ve also completed advanced training in gut health, metabolic flexibility, and thyroid health (including Level 1 & 2 Thyroid Practitioner Training with Tara Nelson), and am part of Tara's ongoing mentoring group.

Curious how I can support you?

Did you know…? Around 60% of your thyroid hormones are activated in your liver!

Your thyroid produces mostly T4, the inactive form of thyroid hormone. For your body to use it effectively, T4 needs to be converted into T3 — the active form — and a large portion of that conversion happens in your liver.

So, if your liver isn’t functioning optimally — whether due to sluggish detox pathways, inflammation, fatty liver, hormonal imbalances, or nutrient deficiencies — this critical conversion can be impaired. The result? You might have "normal" thyroid blood tests but still experience symptoms like:

💤 Fatigue
🥶 Cold intolerance
🧠 Brain fog
📉 Slowed metabolism
😔 Low mood

This is why supporting liver health is such an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to thyroid and metabolic health. You can think of your liver as a silent workhorse — processing hormones, toxins, and nutrients every single day. When it's overwhelmed or undernourished, your whole system can feel it.

✨ If you’re experiencing thyroid symptoms despite “normal” labs, it might be time to take a deeper look — starting with your liver.

Did you know women are up to 10 times more likely to develop a thyroid condition than men?

This isn’t just a coincidence — there are several reasons why thyroid disorders are far more common in females.

🔄 Hormonal fluctuations play a big role. From puberty to pregnancy, through perimenopause and into post-menopause, women experience constant shifts in oestrogen and progesterone. These hormones influence how the thyroid functions — and when they're out of balance, they can increase vulnerability to thyroid dysfunction.

😰 Stress is another key factor. Women often carry a heavy load — juggling family, careers, and caregiving roles — which can lead to chronic stress. And when stress becomes the norm, it impacts the delicate communication between the brain, adrenal glands, and thyroid.

🧴 Environmental toxin exposure is also worth considering. Many beauty, skincare, and household cleaning products contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals. Women often use these more frequently than men, which means greater exposure over time — potentially impacting thyroid health.

✨ If you're dealing with fatigue, unexplained weight changes, mood shifts, or hormonal imbalances — it might be time to check in on your thyroid.

Are you ready to change?

Naturopathy isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about transformation.

At its core, naturopathic care is about empowering you with the tools, knowledge, and support to take charge of your health. It’s a collaborative approach that looks at the whole picture — your nutrition, lifestyle, stress, sleep, movement, and environment — and creates a plan that supports healing and long-term wellbeing.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all fix, you’ll learn how your body works, why certain symptoms are showing up, and how to make sustainable changes that align with your goals. Whether you’re dealing with fatigue, hormonal imbalances, metabolic concerns, or just want to feel more like yourself again, naturopathy can help guide you there — naturally.

🌿 It's not about perfection. It's about progress, consistency, and creating the foundation for lifelong health.

So… are you ready to change?

Who do I Work With?

🌱 People who are ready to change — even if they’re not sure where to start.
🧬 Those who want answers beyond “everything looks normal” — clients who want to understand their body, interpret their results, and feel heard.
🌞 People wanting to feel well, vibrant, and in tune with themselves again — not just temporarily, but in a way that lasts.
✨ Those who feel tired but wired, living in a state of exhaustion and overwhelm, struggling to get restful sleep or feel recharged.
🌿 Individuals navigating burnout, stress, or the sense that their body just isn’t keeping up with life anymore.
⚖️ People dealing with weight changes or shifts in their body that no longer respond to the same strategies — and are ready to look deeper.
🔁 Women facing hormonal chaos, irregular cycles, PMS, or the transition through perimenopause and menopause, seeking support that’s natural, informed, and empowering.
🦋 Anyone concerned about thyroid health — whether they have a diagnosis or just a gut feeling that something isn’t quite right.

If you're ready to stop guessing and start healing with clarity and support, you're in the right place.

🌸 Perimenopause or Thyroid Dysfunction… or Both? 🦋

Fatigue. Brain fog. Weight changes. Mood swings. Irregular cycles. Sound familiar?

These are common symptoms of both perimenopause and thyroid dysfunction, which is why many women are misdiagnosed—or go undiagnosed—for years.

Here’s a quick comparison 👇

🔄 Shared Symptoms
• Fatigue
• Mood changes (anxiety, depression)
• Brain fog
• Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
• Sleep disturbances
• Hair thinning or dry skin
• Irregular or heavy periods

💡 Important Note:
Perimenopausal and postmenopausal women are also at increased risk of thyroid disorders, especially hypothyroidism. Hormonal shifts during this life stage can unmask or exacerbate thyroid issues.

If you're feeling off, it's worth investigating both. Functional testing can help uncover the root cause and guide a more targeted approach to care.

You don’t have to guess—there are answers. 🧠💪

If you would like to discuss how Naturopathy can help you both assess the cause of your symptoms, as well as address them, book an appointment today.

Low physical and mental energy can stem from various factors, including:

Nutritional Deficiencies: Essential nutrients like iron, magnesium, B vitamins, and coenzyme Q10 play a key role in energy production.

Thyroid Imbalance: Both an underactive and overactive thyroid can lead to fatigue.

Blood Sugar Fluctuations: Unstable blood sugar levels may cause inconsistent energy throughout the day.

Poor Sleep Quality: Disrupts the body’s ability to repair and recharge.

Mitochondrial Dysfunction: When cellular energy production is impaired, fatigue can follow.

Chronic Stress: Long-term stress disrupts hormone balance, depletes cortisol, and drains energy.

Immune Activation: Infections and inflammation can contribute to persistent tiredness.

A naturopath can help identify the root cause of your fatigue by assessing your overall health, lifestyle, and nutritional status, guiding you toward personalized solutions to restore your energy and well-being.
