Realise Ability

Realise Ability Realise Ability - Build your capacity, realise your potential! The team at Realise Ability work within a social model.

We provide a wrap around and holistic service that help clients work towards goals that are important to them, in environments that are important to them. The therapist is important, but not as important as the client and the rest of their team. The client is the expert and their life and their goals dictate where they practise their skills. The Client chooses the goals – therapists help clients work out which skills and strengths they need to develop to achieve these goals and together they can write a plan for their team. The Client chooses where they want to use the skills – their team will work with the client in these places to ensure their new skills are useful and functional. The client's team may include family, teachers, friends, coaches and anyone else who plays a role in their life. Every now and again, they will need to check back in with their therapists to make sure they are on track and get some new ideas.

💖 Strengthen our resilience during tough times

When we focus on our strengths, we create a mindset that fuels progress, motivation, and hope.

🧡 One story. One life. Real impact. 🧡

For the past three years, we’ve supported James—an NDIS participant—in his home, school, and local community. These aren’t just convenient locations; they’re where his life happens. Being there helps us work alongside his support network and make real-world progress.

But the recent NDIS Price Guide changes—announced just two weeks before they take effect—are putting this kind of support at risk.

Jamie lives more than 30 minutes away. The new cap on travel reimbursements means providers like us can no longer cover the cost of reaching children like him. It doesn’t cover wages, travel time, or fuel. And it threatens the kind of therapy that helps children thrive—not just survive.
And it’s not as simple as “finding a provider closer to home.” In many areas, there isn’t one. Or if there is, they may not have the experience or skills to provide the individualised support children like James need.

This isn’t just about funding. It’s about connection, safety, and inclusion. Without continued, localised support, Jamie risks losing more than a service he risks losing progress.

We’re speaking up—and you can too.
