Grief often begins before death. Long before the final goodbye, families, friends and even the person who is dying may already be living with sadness, fear or a sense of loss. This is called anticipatory grief - and while it is common, it is not always recognised or understood.
End of Life Doulas walk alongside people through this tender time. We provide presence, listening and gentle reassurance so that no one has to carry their grief alone. By naming and acknowledging anticipatory grief, families can open up space for connection, conversation and memory-making while time is still available.
