As a woman, Managing Director of Living Without Boundaries, shared business owner with my husband, supervisor, teacher, mentor, occupational therapist, mother of daughters and son, this leaves me reflecting on recognizing that everyone has different circumstances and the importance of our community allocating the specific resources and opportunities needed to reach equality in outcomes that can often be difficult for many women.

Our focus needs to be on breaking down systemic barriers that hinder inclusive access to opportunities for all women and their daughters.

These barriers are embedded in economic, social and legal systems highlighting increasing issues in Australia with gender parity and violence against women. Unfortunately we see it within our work and it is on the rise.

There are things we can do to support our next generation of women, our daughters in growing into strong women beginning with how families, friends, fathers, brothers and the men in their lives support and empower them to speak up, be heard and reach for the stars 🌟
Their voices matter
Their decisions and choices matter
They own their bodies and their decisions
They become financially independent and they become leaders… with the men in our lives walking along side us celebrating our wins and strengthening our position to support and nurture our women that contribute so much to innovation in our world, our country, the land and our communities.

Let’s keep moving forward to a place of equality for all. Shine ✨ a light on the women in your life today! ❤️

So what does the roles of an AHA look like?

💡Supporting therapy sessions designed by the OT
💡Assissting with skill development in areas like self-care, fine motor skills , emotional regulation, and daily living
💡Implementing home or school programs
💡Preparing therapy resources and equipment
💡Providing valuable feedback to the supervising OT

AHAs help ensure clients recieve consistent, practical support between formal therapy sessions - turning goals into real-world outcomes.

They are compassionate, skilled, and committed team members who help bridge the gap between planning and progress.
