Cost of threads are dependent on the area treated and type of threads used

➕Is it painful?
Numbing cream will be applied prior to the procedure, some areas are more sensitive than others

➕What will I look like after the procedure?
Small red dots can be expected at the entry points of the threads.
Swelling and bruising also can be expected

➕What are the side effects?
Swelling and bruising is common and may last up to 7 days. This depends on the number of threads that were inserted and location of threads. There may be tenderness lasting up to one week

In the late 1990s, Georgian Plastic Surgeon Dr Marlen Sulamanidze invented the technique of using barbed suture threads for lifting effects in the facial area. This technique was further refined over time by his sons.

Variations of the technique and thread material have been introduced ever since.

Bone resorption, facial fat changes and skin laxity all contribute to facial sagging as we age.

Long threads were designed to lift and counteract sagging.

Short threads were designed for the purpose of skin firming and rejuvenation, with very minimal lifting effect.
