💙 Our Pacing with POTS class showed up strong last week, even in 38°C heat! Everyone wore turquoise in recognition of Dysautonomia Awareness Month, showing incredible resilience and support for one another through the ups and downs of POTS and Long COVID.
Dysautonomia describes a range of conditions that affect the autonomic nervous system — the part of the body that controls things like heart rate, blood pressure, temperature regulation, digestion, and bladder control.
One of the most common forms is POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which can develop after viral infections such as COVID, or sometimes for no clear reason. POTS most often affects women aged 15–55 (though can occur in men too) and can cause symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, temperature changes, and exercise intolerance, among many others.
A big shoutout to our amazing community for continuing to show up, move, and support one another!💪🏼💙
