🎥🏉 CareSpace at St Joey’s FNC – Supporting Community, Together! 🏐🎬

Last week, our Content Creation team headed out to St Joseph’s Football & Netball Club to help them promote their upcoming Grand Final Lunch fundraiser - and we were more than happy to get behind it! 💚

St Joey’s do incredible work in the community, especially through their All-Abilities football and netball programs - creating a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone to get involved in sport. 🙌

They also generously open their doors to us every Wednesday, hosting our CareSpace Cooking Program in their clubrooms - so it was a pleasure to return the favour and shine a spotlight on their event.

🥁🎥 Participant of the Week: Aiden! 🎉⚽️

This week we’re celebrating the one and only Aiden - a creative powerhouse and all-round legend here at CareSpace! 💚

Whether he's behind the drums in our music group, doing hilarious voices into the mic 🎤, or out filming and editing with the Content Creation crew, Aiden brings passion, talent and energy to everything he does.

🎬 He even combined both worlds by smashing the drums in our Wiggles spoof video - and absolutely nailed it!

Outside of CareSpace, Aiden’s just as active - playing footy for St Joey’s and basketball for the Rovers. Always moving, always creating, always having a crack.

Aiden, your creativity, dedication and good humour make you a huge part of what makes our programs so special. Keep doing your thing! 🙌

🚌💙 Expression of Interest: Geelong v Richmond Bus Trip! 💛🐱

CareSpace is gearing up for a trip to the MCG to watch Geelong take on Richmond in Round 24 — and we want YOU to come with us! 🙌

We’ll be organising a bus from Geelong to the MCG, giving participants the chance to experience the excitement of live AFL action with mates and fellow fans. 🎉

📍 Where: MCG (Bus departs from Geelong)
🗓️ When: Round 24 – Date & time TBC (AFL yet to announce)
💰 Cost: Also TBC – but we’ll keep it affordable and accessible!

Whether you're a Cats supporter, a Tigers fan, or just love the buzz of the footy — it's set to be a great day out.

There’s a super cool event coming up we thought some of our participants might love — it’s called Neurodivergent Speed Friending, and it’s all about connecting in a relaxed, inclusive setting. 🌈💬

🗓️ When: Thursday, August 21st

⏰ Time: 6:00–8:30 PM

📍 Where: An accessible private venue in Geelong (with parking + chill spaces!)

It’s for people aged 18–30, and it’s all about fun, low-pressure convos — plus pizza, snacks, and a chance to hang out and meet new friends.

Are you creative, curious, or just love being behind (or in front of) the camera?

Now’s the perfect time to jump in - because our Content Creation program is taking off!

We’ve started getting requests from local organisations asking us to help film and share their stories - and we want YOU to be part of it.

💥 Learn how to film, direct, interview and create content
🎥 Visit real businesses and help support the community
🙌 Gain confidence, teamwork skills and have a heap of fun doing it
💚 No experience needed - just bring your enthusiasm!

It’s all about building skills, telling stories, and helping local businesses doing it tough - while making friends and having a great time along the way.

💚 Support Worker of the Week: Breanna! 💚

This week we’re celebrating the energetic, supportive and all-round amazing Breanna! 🎉

You’ll find Breanna right in the thick of it during our Content Creation program on Tuesdays, always ready to lend a hand, guide a shot, or cheer on the crew as they film their next masterpiece. 🎥👏

Then she backs it up on Wednesdays in the kitchen, supporting our participants in the CareSpace Cooking program - making it look effortless while doing it! 🍳💪

Outside of CareSpace, Breanna holds a Diploma of Exercise and Sport Science, and if she’s not with us, you’ll most likely spot her at the gym - living her passion for health and fitness. 🏋️‍♀️

Thank you, Breanna, for your kindness, positivity, and drive. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the CareSpace crew!

This week we’re celebrating the incredible Ashlea, a much-loved member of both our CareSpace Music and Cooking programs! 💚

Ashlea brings heart, talent and a whole lot of passion to everything she does - from stirring up something delicious in the kitchen to owning the stage at our expos with performances that would make Billie Eilish proud. 🎤✨

Her creativity and courage continue to inspire everyone around her, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her in our community.
