We are looking forward to Mais Rawlinson joining the team in late January. Mais is a final year psychotherapy and counselling student, completing their second placement in their bachelor’s degree. Their approach is relationally grounded and collaborative, centring an integrative mind-body psychotherapy with a client-centred philosophy. Mais is a member of the q***r community and their practice is LGBTQI+ and neurodivergent affirming. Mais has worked as a personal trainer for eight years and in recent years began using exercise and movement as a psychotherapeutic offering, supporting clients to create and maintain psychological/physiological safety and stabilisation through creating structural integrity and trust in the body. They believe that the power of therapy is held within the therapeutic relationship, embodying non-judgement, curiosity, compassion and integrity. They take into the consideration the wider systemic impacts on our heath and well-being, working with anxiety and providing support as we collectively begin to understand how our social/cultural systems have shaped us. Mais provides evidence based treatment, working together with a client to tailor the therapeutic approach to specific needs and goals. Modalities include somatic therapy, EFT, parts frameworks, nervous system resources and tools, narrative and creative therapies. They work with clients through themes of identity, attachment, relationships, complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety/grief, burnout, belonging, anxiety, grief, depression, body dysmorphia & body dysphoria and neurodivergence. Whilst Mais seeks to work primarily with the q***r community, they welcome all people who resonate with their work and who seek to begin the journey of understanding themselves in order to facilitate change.
Mais offers in person & online therapy to clients 13 years and over. They will be based at Ariston House Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from late January onwards, to refer please access via the Wonderkind and co website www.wonderkindandco.com
