Another day, another drawer makeover!

This top drawer started as a “school mornings made easy” setup, and like most things, it needed a little refresh.
We tidied it up, cleared out what wasn’t being used anymore, and added a few extra items that are important for where the kids are at now.

Which drawer are you making over this week?

Kmart finds you didn't know you needed.

Three drawers, three different divider styles. Here's how we used each one:
1️⃣ Deeper makeup drawer — taller dividers to keep every highlighter, eye crayon and brush in its own place
2️⃣ Shallow makeup drawer — low white dividers to separate foundations, mascaras, palettes and lip gloss
3️⃣ Bathroom essentials drawer — clear low dividers for hair ties, skincare and all the teeth essentials

Which of these Kmart dividers are you trying at home? 👇

Could your kitchen drawers use a tidy up?

Here's what we did to help get this client's kitchen back on track ( you can take these tips home too!)

✅ Remove anything you don't actually use
✅ Return items to where they actually belong (hello, baking cupboard)
✅ Keep just one of each item on the bench for easy access (less visual noise, less decision fatigue)

Organising a drawer isn't just about making it look nice, it's about making it work for your brain.
These 4 steps are simple, low-pressure, and genuinely make a difference, especially if you're neurodivergent and need your space to be predictable and easy to navigate.

Drawers are supposed to make life easier, but for a lot of neurodivergent folks, they can quickly become cluttered and overwhelming.

Here's why (and what actually helps):

It’s called object permanence, and it’s something many neurodivergent people struggle with. If we can't see it, it basically doesn’t exist. So we shove things in a drawer to clear the visual clutter, and then forget they're there 🤣
Here’s what you can do to fix it:

🗂️ Use drawer dividers. If the pens live in a specific spot, they can't migrate to where the batteries live.

🏷️ Visual cues. If you struggle to remember what's inside, label the outside or the edge of the drawer.

📦 The one-layer rule. Try to keep your drawer so nothing is stacked on top of something else.

🚪 And for cupboards, use slide-out containers so that everything pulls forward to you. No more reaching or digging, or losing things at the back.

What's your most chaotic drawer right now?

We all have *that* drawer. Some of us might have lots of them 🙈
Utensil chaos, all-over-the-place kids clothes, or the junk drawer that contains everything and nothing all at once.
Whatever drawer is driving you crazy at home, here’s your challenge to get on top of it. No need to commit to an entire home reorganisation. Just start with one drawer and see what happens!

I bet you didn’t know you could adjust your cupboard hinges like this?!

I built this outdoor shoe storage for a client to keep their shoes protected from spiders and dust.

The secret is getting the hinges right.
If your door is sitting too high or low, adjust the top and bottom screws.
Need it to shift left or right? Use the first screw.

Want it to move in or out? That’s the back screw.

A small tweak that can completely change how your cupboards work. What do you think, will you give this a try?

What do you do when you don’t have a garage or shed?

In this home, we turned the space under the house into a practical storage system that actually works for everyday life.

The most-used items — bikes, toys, helmets and pool gear — were placed right at the front for easy access.
Less-used things like gardening supplies and kids’ artwork were stored in large wheelie bins, while spare repair materials like carpet, vents and plumbing pieces were kept further from the door.

If you’re looking to make an awkward storage space work better, get in touch and we can help you set it up properly!
