🌡️ EXTREME HEAT WARNING FOR MELBOURNE TOMORROW 🌡️

Melbourne is facing scorching temperatures tomorrow. Stay safe and cool with these tips:

🏠 Stay Cool
🔹 Keep indoors during peak heat (11am–4pm)
🔹 Use fans, aircon, or visit cool public spaces
🔹 Close curtains to block heat

💧 Stay Hydrated
🔹 Drink plenty of water (avoid alcohol or caffeine)
🔹 Eat light, cold meals

🧴 Sun Safety
🔹 Wear light clothing, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses
🔹 Take shade breaks if outside

🔹 Check on vulnerable neighbours or relatives
🔹 Never leave kids in hot cars

Nominations for the 2024 Geelong Awards for People with Disability are open!

The awards recognise and celebrate people living with disability who live, work or volunteer in Greater Geelong and are doing outstanding work in advocacy, leadership and empowering others.

We invite you to nominate a person with disability for their efforts and achievements.

There are four award categories across areas of achievement, leadership and advocacy, volunteering, and business leadership access and inclusion.

Nominations close Monday 23 September, with the winners to be announced at our International Day of People with Disability Event on Tuesday 3 December 2024.
