Geelong Osteopaths David Birley and Cailin Mellberg (The Osteopaths). If there is a manual therapy technique that you do not want, we won't use it.

We are experienced Osteopaths, we treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions using a variety of manual therapy techniques. Based in Geelong for over 15 years, The Osteopaths have developed a reputation for their professional and friendly approach in delivering quality patient care. We take pride in our ability to run our appointments on time, communicate effectively, educate and genuinely care about our clients. We have experience in treating headaches, back pain, neck pain, shoulder injuries, hip and leg pain, sports injuries, ergonomic and postural issues, chronic conditions, children, teenagers, babies and pregnancy care. Our treatments are tailored to each individual, and may include massage, trigger point therapy, stretching techniques, mobilisation, manipulation, dry needling, sports taping and home exercise programs. We respect your privacy by using towels and offering colourful clinic gowns, and we will always gain consent for any manual therapy techniques that we use. We accept GP referrals for Medicare, as well as TAC and other third party providers. We are able to offer a medical certificate if deemed appropriate. We are trained to effectively diagnose musculoskeletal conditions, and where necessary we can refer directly for certain diagnostic investigations (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI). We collaborate with GP's, physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, exercise therapists and other specialists. If we can't help you, we tell you, and provide resources of what may just work better for you! The Osteopaths will re-open this Friday 10th September in line with the reduced restrictions in Regional Victoria.

Once we have offered appointments to clients on our wait list, we will re-open our online booking schedule. Please be patient with us, we have a significant number of clients on our waitlist.

☀️ Welcome to Spring! ☀️

How amazing is the colour of this red and white anemone in our garden, a fitting tribute to all of the amazing health care workers looking after those in need.

🙏 Thank you for your patience and understanding as we endure through this lockdown No. 6. We are currently only able to see urgent cases face-to-face based on strict DHHS criteria. We can always talk to you over the phone, so if you need to chat, please give us a call - we are here to support you.

At 9.30pm tonight we will be cheering on the Australian Womens Basketball team 'The Gliders' as they play at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Make sure you catch Bree Mellberg ( #10) in action, she has a very proud brother Cailin and family watching from at home in Geelong. What an amazing achievement.

The game starts at 9.30pm tonight on Channel 7, and they will also be playing again on Sunday night.

Q: Dave the Osteo, do you have a lockdown routine?

A: Absolutely! It's the best time to go on a bike ride and make the most of having (almost) no traffic... It's a cycling utopia out there especially after dark!

Q: Do you have any lockdown advice?

A: Simple. Make sure you spend at least 30 minutes twice a day outside, either going for a walk, bike riding, gardening or simply being active. Just keep moving!

During the recent lockdown, we were closed as advised by DHHS guidelines.

Our strict COVID safe protocols remain in place:
- All clients are screened prior to attending.
- We are currently asking clients to wait in their car, and to use our 'virtual doorbell' SMS system once they have arrived.
- Please 'check-in' using our QR code at the entrance.
- Hand sanitiser is located at our entrance and in rooms.
- Masks are to be worn and are provided.
- Your temperature will be checked upon arrival.
- Room surfaces are disinfected between clients.
- Any linen used is single use only.
- All practitioners have COVID safety and hand hygiene training.
- Rooms are fitted with medically approved hand wash basins.
- Our treatment rooms are ventilated and spacious.
- The practitioner completes all transactions and any rebooking, so that you only come into contact with 1 person.

Although we are currently closed, The Osteopaths are creating a waiting list so that we can prioritise our clients care needs. This will allow us to see our most acute clients first up once we can re-open under DHHS rules.

What's your favourite colour gown?

Just over 9 months ago we placed an order for some new Cambodian gowns. This past week they have finally arrived! We were so pleased that we could continue to support the amazing women who made these beautiful gowns, especially given their ongoing challenges with COVID.

A big thank you to Kim Ritchie at Total Balance Osteopathy in Port Macquarie for facilitating this project.
