Did you know that Jarrah Honey can treat Candida? This is a common fungal infection on horses, often found in their hooves (causes thrush) and on their skin.

Here is a study focused on the antifungal effect of honey, particularly Jarrah honey, on Candida species.
- Honey, especially those with high levels of hydrogen peroxide-type activity, showed antifungal effects on Candida species beyond osmotic factors.
- Jarrah honey was significantly more effective against Candida species compared to artificial honey.
- Drug-resistant Candida infections pose challenges in treatment and result in additional healthcare costs.
- Alternative antifungal agents, such as Jarrah honey, should be considered.
- Honey could be used topically for the treatment and prevention of Candida infections in wounds and on mucus membranes
- Different Candida species showed varying susceptibility to different honey types, with Jarrah honey being particularly effective.
