Here he is, little Marley ❤️

He joined us back in February and it’s been full on and an incredible journey so far!

Becoming a Mother has been the most beautiful experience, I’m full of love and gratitude.

As each day passes I’m learning more about my gorgeous boy, myself and my partner. But that’s not to say it hasn’t been easy. I’ve certainly have felt overwhelmed and exhausted emotionally, spiritually and physically. It’s true, nothing prepares you for being a parent, it’s just something I’ve had to learn day by day.

Luckily my partner has been so supportive especially with breastfeeding and in those first 6 weeks where I needed to heal and take it really sloooooow.

It’s now been over three months since Marley’s birth and I finally feel like I’m coming up for air. I’m feeling physically, mentally and emotionally stronger. My mind has more clarity, daily walks and meditation have found it’s way back into my daily routine….gosh it makes me feel gooood to be fully present and grateful for my life.

So here I am, back to connect, share and offer myself to support those who are looking to feel Empowered emotionally, spiritually and physically ✨❤️

Subconscious beliefs - a quick activity 📝

1. Grab a pen and paper

2. Write down the first thing that comes to mind when you read each sentence below. Don’t spend time thinking about your answer. Whatever comes up first, just jot it down, this is to give you insights into your subconscious beliefs.

• I am….

• People are….

• The world is….

• Relationships are….

• Money is….

• Good health is….

• Success is….

• Life is….

Reflect on your answers. Do you feel that these beliefs resonate with you consciously? Do you see these beliefs playing out in your life? Were you surprised by some of your answers?

Our subconscious beliefs play on repeat constantly 95% of our day. Until we become consciously aware of these beliefs, we stay stuck in a program that we didn’t have much control over. These beliefs were created by traumatic experiences and from the ages of 0-7 years.

Be gentle on yourself when doing this activity. Have compassion for what is showing up for you. Uncovering our subconscious beliefs is all apart of the journey of healing parts of ourselves and reprogramming our brains to become the person we want to be 🧠💫

Constant stress draws energy from our body and depletes our vital life force. This leaves very little energy for repair and restoration.

Our bodies start to build up reliance on stress hormones which then get addictive and we get stuck in a loop of chaos and heart incoherence. This becomes our bodies new normal.

Are you addicted to stress? Do you find stressful family environments familiar and comfortable? Do you avoid quiet activities or time by yourself? Do you love to be busy….constantly? Do you feel guilty when relaxing?

Take some time ponder on these questions and be honest and kind with yourself for whatever comes up.

It’s much easier to manage our stress when we understand how our body is subconsciously responding to it. By asking yourself these questions you may learn that you’re stuck in a subconscious stress cycle.

There are many ways we can bring coherence back to our bodies and reduce addictive stress hormones. These techniques are all based on scientific research studies and I am here to support you through this.

Belief Changing

When plagued by chronic stress, illness and diseases which manifest out of nowhere we often start eating better, exercising more and try to reduce toxic chemicals. These changes are important as our body will benefit.

BUT! There is something else that plays a really big part in treating illness and disease….

Our minds!

Our mind can also get sick when we feed it negative thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, others and the world. This makes our cells sick and this can create illness and disease.

Endless research and studies have proven that our beliefs are stored in our cells as a code known as cellular memory.

Beliefs can be created in two ways either when we our subconscious minds are being programmed from 0-7 years or through shock and trauma. This is because of emotions that are attached to these experiences that are then stored in the body on a deep level.

So, do your beliefs empower you? If not, challenge them!

How do you challenge beliefs?
- awareness of your current beliefs
- curiosity around what you get from these beliefs
- clarity around what beliefs you do want to have
- Action - learn new skills and knowledge, meditation, repeating positive affirmations, connecting.

Using these skills will allow you to take control and manifest better health and well-being 🧠

The perceptions we have of ourselves, family, friends, and the world are based on our thoughts, patterns and beliefs which are wired into our subconscious brain from 0-7 years (yes, that young)!

This process is called conditioning. This is a survival mechanism - it helps us to understand the world around us, to keep us safe, to survive (obviously this is very important)!

Therefore, our attachment to our caregivers is so fundamental during our early years. Our caregivers shape our beliefs based on their own beliefs. If they fear something, we fear it etc (Does this resonate)?

Most of us spend 95% of our day operating from the subconscious autopilot. Decisions we make, mindsets, motivation and healing are all done on autopilot. It’s much easier operating from here as this is what we are used to. Our brain likes it here too, it conserves energy by knowing what to expect.

That means that only 5% of our day is in a state of consciousness. This is where we choose to consciously make our lives better, to witness our patterns, beliefs, and thoughts. Our subconscious mind will always try to pull us out of being conscious with cyclical thoughts (‘I will apply for a new job tomorrow, it’s too much to deal with today’) or physical symptoms.

It is when we start to become conscious of our daily thoughts, patterns, and beliefs that we can reprogram our brain and become empowered by healing and creating the life we want to live.

Below are techniques that allow you to break free of default patterns, beliefs, and thoughts. By using these techniques, you can reprogram your brain to create new neural pathways which over time will be your new subconscious programming.

Consciousness reprograming techniques include:

🙌 Working with an Empowerment Counsellor who can help you work through beliefs, patterns and thoughts that come up in sessions.

🙌 Daily meditation practice (Zen, mindfulness, mantra)

🙌 Being in the present moment (not thinking about the past or future) being truly present on the task you are doing.

🙌 Journaling, setting daily intentions and reminders throughout the day.

One of my favourite places to practice Zen meditation is at the beach. I sit for 20 minutes and listen to all the sounds around me, the waves, birds, people, distant cars etc. I don’t think anything of these sounds, I just observe them and let them go.

Zen meditation is ideal for all learning styles as it requires us to be here in the present moment.

By listening to the sounds around you, it give you something to focus on. When you observe the sounds you stop listening to your thoughts which means you start meditating and relaxing your body. Our body starts to pump positive hormones throughout our body which gives our minds the time to stop and relax.

Relaxed bodies means less anxiety, depression, inflammation, high blood pressure, increased libido, increased fertility, a better nights sleep, more energy, a positive outlook on life and many more health benefits!

What’s one of your favourite meditation spots? 🧘🏽

The pain of loss.

Grief is the intense, emotional response to the pain of loss. The pain reflects the connection we shared with our loved one. It's the sadness and pain that sits inside of us at a depth we have never felt before that creates the intense feelings are that beyond any normal range of human emotion. It is this pain that we want to avoid.

The thing with grief is that we try to push the pain that comes with it away. We supress it in whatever way we feel is necessary to avoid the overwhelming, heart-breaking pain.

Through my own experience of grief, I have learnt that the longer I have tried to prolong the pain I have also prolonged my grief and with grief brings healing. Grief does not feel like healing at the time (how could anything that feels so bad help to me to heal)? However, it's after feeling the pain of grief that the healing will come.

We will grieve forever for our loved ones. There is no question about it. We will never get over the loss and nor would we want to. We just find ways to live with it, to heal and rebuild a life around the loss.

When we feel the pain, we can then grieve, and this allows us to heal. This is the true gift of grief 🤍

Empowerment Counselling I facilitate empowerment coaching sessions 1:1 with clients, educational mediation workshops, and transformative online workshops for people seeking to reach their highest potential.
