So in a nutshell, kids NEED to feel SAFE and COMFORTABLE in order to bloom when it comes to learning. They need to see themselves positively as a learner and truly believe in their innate abilities. Emotional, mental, environmental , nutritional and physical wellbeing are essential for the brain and body to function at its full potential. If any of these areas experience stress, learning and performance will be inhibited. Kinesiology can help to defuse stress that children store in order to help them continue to blossom in learning and performance. Do you or your child struggle with a phobia that feels overwhelming? How does it hold you back, or impact your child’s daily life?
A phobia is a reaction to an event or object which is extreme and out of proportion.

Did you know kinesiology can help? Whether your child is afraid of the dark, loud noises, certain animals, water, foods, or even heights, fear being alone or taking risks, these fears can interfere with their sleep, their confidence, and even their ability to achieve personal or learning goals.

Using gentle techniques through NLK (Neuro-Linguistic Kinesiology), we can help ease these fears.

For instance, my son reached a point where he couldn’t sleep alone, becoming so scared of the dark and his room that he refused to enter it, even during the day. After just a few sessions, he now sleeps in his room and stays there most of the night.

Another recent example is a little girl who was terrified to sleep by herself or shower at night because of a character from a movie. Now, she no longer mentions the fear, and has regained her independence.

I have seen phobias hold children back in my experience as a classroom teacher. Imagine how empowering it must feel for these children to not allow their fears to hold them back any longer. There is a way forward, and I’m here to support them on that journey. DM me to chat 🌼🦋

🌟 Understanding the Fight or Flight Reflex 🌟

Ever wonder why your heart races when you’re scared or why you feel the urge to run when faced with danger? That’s your body’s “fight or flight” reflex kicking in!

The fight or flight response is an automatic reaction our bodies have to perceived threats. It’s all thanks to our nervous system preparing us to either stay and confront the danger (fight) or escape to safety (flight). It is your body doing it’s job to keep you safe.

This instinct is primal, dating back to our caveman days when we had to escape predators like wild animals. Today, our threats aren’t wild animals but rather stressful situations like managing household responsibilities or dealing with challenging moments with our kids. Yet, our brains still react the same way! This reaction is controlled by a part of our brain called the reptilian brain. At times we may become ‘stuck’ in this state causing a lack of rational thinking as your body prioritizes immediate survival over calm and measured responses.

Kinesiology uses techniques that are quick and effective to release the fight or flight reflex. These techniques redirect the body’s energy flows and increases our capacity for more rational thinking. It will enable you to be more resourceful and respond to a situation more effectively.

So next time you feel that rush of adrenaline, you’ll know it’s just your body doing its job to keep you safe

Are you questioning whether your baby is ready for solids? There is so much conflicting advice out there is can so confusing to know. Is it 4 months or 6 months ? The truth is there is no specific age that a baby will be ready as we are all born different and develop at different rates. It’s so easy as a busy new mama to not prioritise fuelling yourself. So often with my first child nutrient void options like toast were on the menu and I landed myself with postpartum depletion as a result of that and a serious lack of sleep.
