We’re excited to announce our next community outing:
👉 Monday, 15th September, a day trip to the Swell Festival in Currumbin!

✨ The Swell Festival is one of the Gold Coast’s most loved events, with stunning outdoor art displays, ocean views, and plenty of opportunities to connect, laugh, and enjoy the day together.

We’ve organised two 8-seater vans to make sure everyone can come along in comfort.

🌟 Another Wonderful STA Experience on the Gold Coast! 🌟

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a beautiful participant for a 5-day STA filled with fun, relaxation, and connection. 💙

✨ Highlights from the week included:

🌊 Beach walks at Surfers Paradise
🎨 Art & creativity in Broadbeach
🤠 A magical evening at the Australian Outback Spectacular
🍴 Delicious meals shared with our amazing support workers
🌙 Exploring the vibrant Surfers Paradise night market

It was a week of joy, new memories, and community, and we are so grateful to have been part of it. 💫

Josh’s journey hasn’t been easy, but through incredible strength, a positive outlook, and a passion for helping others, he’s turned his life around. Whether it’s mentoring young people, supporting his community, or simply sharing a kind word, Josh embodies the values we hold close: empathy, compassion, and giving back. 🌟

Amanda shares her personal experience of meeting Josh over two years ago and witnessing his transformation firsthand. His dream? To help young people avoid the mistakes he’s seen and to inspire them toward a better future.

Meet Jada, Our Ocean-Loving, People-Passionate Support Worker! 🌊☀️

Based on the Gold Coast, Jada brings heart, creativity, and a whole lot of positive energy to her role at iKare. With a background in youth work and lived experience supporting family members with disability, she’s all about making real connections and helping people feel empowered and seen.

Whether she’s supporting personal care, cheering someone on during a beach walk, or sharing a chai latte after a morning swim – Jada’s approach is personal, patient, and full of heart. 💛

💬 “I’m here to walk alongside you, to cheer you on and support you through the ups and downs. No matter your goals, I’ll be your biggest supporter every step of the way.”

🌸 Fun fact: Jada’s creative spirit shines through in pottery, painting, and anything involving the beach!

Meet James, one of the newest faces at iKare Support Services! 🌊

James comes from Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast and brings with him years of hands-on experience caring for a loved one with high needs. His journey into support work is deeply personal and driven by compassion, resilience, and a genuine love for helping others.

When he's not supporting clients, you’ll find James enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s surfing, fishing, skateboarding, or adding to his epic collection of 500+ vinyl records. 🎶

He’s fun, easy-going, physically fit, and always ready to lend a hand, especially with community access or home maintenance. With a heart full of empathy and a can-do attitude, James is all about helping people live more independently and joyfully.
