Water isn’t just for hydration—it’s a powerful tool for healing! 🌿 Hydrotherapy, a core naturopathic practice, uses hot and cold applications to stimulate circulation, support detoxification, and balance the nervous system.

🔥 Hot Water Therapy – Increases circulation, bringing oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood to tissues and vital organs. Heat promotes white blood cell migration and metabolism, aiding in detoxification through sweating. However, prolonged heat (beyond 7 minutes) may lead to congestion and edema due to blood stasis.

❄️ Cold Water Therapy – Reduces pain, inflammation, and congestion by constricting blood vessels. This helps with injury recovery, muscle soreness, and immune resilience.

💦 Contrast Therapy – Alternating hot and cold applications trains the body’s homeostatic mechanisms, optimizing circulation, digestion, and elimination while balancing sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system tone.

💡 Contrast hydrotherapy :
🚿 Start with 3 minutes of warm/hot water, followed by 30 seconds of cold water. Repeat 3-5 times, always ending on cold!

S T R E S S

It’s pretty common to undergo stress on a day to day basis whether it be psychological, physical or emotional- but what you may not know is that the body (specifically the endocrine system) releases lots of different hormones through the blood stream when stress is apparent.

Some stress can be helpful by motivating and energising the body through the release endorphins and oxytocin, however, other stress can send the body into fight or flight mode and for prolonged periods of time this can be detrimental for health and well-being!

Being in a state of constant stress can:
